Many things are changed for the better, even for a simple game such as Dasher, so let me list them down bellow:
Bit Collection and Grinding:
- Average amount of bits earned per enemy destroyed has been greatly increased.
- It is now possible to buy an upgrade or background per run, on average, depending on how good you are at the game.
Difficulty, Enemies and Related things
- The door to the exit of the map had a collision hitbox that was too huge to be properly broken by the player, making it so that the player could not move it out of the way. Now the hitbox has been adjusted can be pushed easily after breaking it.
- Enemies now become aware of each other sooner and will try to circle the player to better trap and kill him.
- Enemy movement speed slightly decreased, but Yellow and Red acceleration increased to 5% bonus movement speed by second, from about 0.5%.
- Keys no longer slow the player down after being collected.
Performance improvements and Compatibility
- There was a poor written method on the game made to handle spawn-able objects, such as the player's smoke, enemies pieces and some other smoke effects, causing FPS to drop 100 to 200 frames on some machines. It is now fixed.
- Dasher was initially designed to properly run on a fixed 60 frames per second environment, which means that machines that had faster monitors would run the game at the speed of light. Now the game should run properly in any framerate.
