We have just released a new update of Travellers Rest!

This latest version has many new features. We have updated the tavern's exterior artwork, expanded the outdoor area, improved item crafting and added new mechanics.

New Exterior Artwork

We have remade the outside artwork. Now, the resolution and style of the outdoor sprites are the same as those inside the tavern. The breeze sways the trees and grass, and fireflies show up at night.




Expanded and Improved Exterior

We have increased the size of the area outside the tavern. In addition, we have removed the crop field at the north of the tavern, now you can plant crops anywhere on the map! For the time being, the outside of the tavern will be a sandbox to test new mechanics and for example, in the final version, the metal seams will not be as close to the tavern as they are now. As we expand the world, we will relocate the resources.


Rising Nature

Now the trees and grass will reproduce. For example, in an area where there are trees of one type, more trees of the same kind will appear as the days go by. If you do not cut the grass, it will also spread over your land.


New Mechanics

We have added a multitude of mechanics related to obtaining materials. Felling trees, mining seams, cutting tall grass...




New Crafters

We have added three outdoor crafters with a new mechanic: the work zones. When you create a sawmill, it creates a work zone around it. Inside the sawmill's work zone, you can place objects dedicated to woodworking that can give bonuses to some recipes or allow the creation of new objects. You can expand the work zone, adding more sawmills near the first one. The three new crafters are the sawmill, the foundry and the stone workshop.




Crafting Revision

We have adjusted several crafting elements that were not working. A new talent tree has been created in the construction section, a multitude of crafting recipes and new resources have been added.




Tavern Capacity and Satisfaction

From now on, the capacity of the tavern is not regulated by the number of tables, but by the reputation level of the tavern. We have also added a satisfaction meter. If customer satisfaction is high, more customers will come to the tavern, and they will pay more money for the services. To increase satisfaction, keep the tavern clean, serve customers faster, and kick out annoying customers quickly.

  • Now you can cut tall grass with the sickle.
  • Now you can till the field with the hoe.
  • Now the forest, tall grass and lawns expand as the days go by.
  • Now the grass can be removed or replanted with the shovel.
  • The sickle can now harvest several crops at once.
  • The recipe list now shows the items sorted by type instead of showing them sorted by crafter.
  • We have added a new tab in the general panel that shows basic tavern stats.
  • A customer satisfaction meter has been added. Satisfaction is obtained by giving fast and good service to customers.
  • Now the tavern capacity is calculated by reputation level instead of number of seats.
  • Satisfaction can increase or decrease the maximum capacity and selling prices.
  • The price of workers has been increased by 50%.
  • Chests are now only accessible to crafters who are in the same area or room.
  • The capacity of small chests has been reduced.
  • Dropped items of the same type now stack together if they are close enough.
  • Many errors have been fixed.



What's Next

We are currently working on the animation of the new characters. We are taking a little longer than expected as the characters may have quite a few variations of clothing. In the next updates we will start revising food recipes, and we will continue replacing the remaining old artwork with new artwork (icons, crops, dishes...).
