A new boss - The Titan Beetle!
You may "run" into him ;)
He is a very physical boss that relies more on his SHIELD and smashing into you. Chaos, of course, as well. Combined with his diplomatic assets, it's likely he's even more difficult than Harry Legs.
Bosses in general were rewritten a lot. You won't see it, but I made changes that will come in future updates. Future ways to make the game easier or more difficult. The bosses will be able to stack more attacks at a time, for example.
Bosses now announce their moves, "just like my Japanese anime!" This should help players learn not only their attacks, but also how the boss attack system works.
What else?
Several smaller items:
Mouse captured
No more clicking outside the window. If you need to move the window, you can unlock the mouse by pressing ALT+1. This is also mentioned in Video options.
MothMind stronger
I was getting tired of people telling me MothMind was easy. He's slightly stronger, slightly sturdier, and twice as parasitic.
Bombs un-buffed
Last update had fairly significant upgrades in strength to bombs. It's been set back to previous weeks' values.
Emergency Teleport fixed
Not just fixed. Made better. It had to be modified when it's triggered. Much better balanced now. You can get the upgrade up to three times, at which point you'll teleport to safety whenever you touch something. The area you teleport to is searched for enemies before you teleport. Much better, at least. Most importantly, your balls teleport with you now. Who would use a teleporter if your balls didn't travel with you?!
Importantly, this upgrade was moved from Physical to the Time and Aero doors. It didn't make sense in Physical, since it basically prevents you from developing a very powerful physical build by teleporting you to safety as soon as you get physical.
Spikes balanced
Spikes are a strong tool. But they actually were OP with many spikes and balls. You could create 30+ spikes a second that way. Now, spikes can only be made every 3/4 second, no matter how many spikeable attacks you have.
New engine
Updated to a new GameMaker Studio engine. Supposedly, framerates could increase.
GMLive
If you look in the game files, you'll see GMLive. It's just a tool to help me develop much better. I can see updates in the game without having to recompile, which should make development much faster. I'm excited for it.
Shots can go out of bounds
Before, I was deleting shots as soon as they left the screen. Now there's a buffer, so tracking shots have some room to come back in.
Player shown on pause and upgrade screens
This was done so you have more information about where your avatar is when you are quickly thrown back into the chaos. Believe it or not, this is also a step toward the main focus next week, which will be:
Next week: stat change information when looking at the different upgrades
Good luck and have fun. Don't let Titan beat you around too much.
