COMMUNITY INPUT

I had a request to make bombs strong. Even though I think they were already plenty strong, I want to encourage community input. So I obliged:

  • Bomb strength 10% stronger
  • Bomb fragments 20% stronger
  • Bombs propel better nerfed. Slower, and it takes 10% of the damage away
  • [fix] standardized bomb ttl (how long it stays on screen) so it's short no matter what starting build you choose

I had another request to make the game endless after the final boss.

There's an option to go endless during the last boss now.
Speaking of bosses: there's now 2 bonus upgrades for every boss killed

It... looks different...

  • New custom-made font unique to Dualism
  • Replaced fonts used for damage numbers with these
  • XP gained shows on kill
  • Bonus upgrades show on player on boss kills

Finished up the Shields from last week.

  • Shields pass status effects (lightning, slow, poison, blast, etc)
  • -- For the above, the shield counts as a physical hit
  • Shields have hit flashes
  • Shields have collision sfx
  • Shield stat tweaking to make them better in every way
  • Shield challenges in the Challenges screen
  • Fixed shield collisions code (I don't know- this is all I wrote in my notes)

Screw sucked. It was too small and required several size upgrades to be useful. I made screwing better.

  • Base screw area about 2x larger
  • Screw semi-transparent so you can see who you're screwing
  • Blast due to screw hits happens on enemies, not player

Lightning reworked/recoded
Before, lightning occured all during the same frame. This made it hard to tell how it traveled and how much damage it did.
Now, after an overhaul, every chain of lightning has several frames in between, so you can kind of see it propagate. It's still pretty fast though.
I think I solved some unknown lightning bugs too. Lightning might be much stronger now...
Also made it so the correct type of poison or slow travels through lightning based on if the lightning was started with a physical hit or spirit energy.

That's it. I know. No new boss. The teleport upgrade is still broken. Attraction is way too strong. I think these things will all be fixed in the next update.
Taxes got in the way. Yeah. That's my excuse. Definitely not my ADHD brain.
I also keep talking about being able to see the individual stat increases for each upgrade. Can't promise it for next week, it's a big task- I have to rewrite calculations for every upgrade.
