Hey everyone, I'm Totoro, Producer at Hermit Games! We've got a lot to discuss with you today, but before proceeding, let me say something very important to us: thanks a lot for an amazing release day, for your support and for your feedback. After all these months of hard work, and this being our first game, it means the world to us. We're releasing Nigate Tale on Early Access, which means we got a lot of working front of us before the game is ready to move on to full release. We can assure you that we'll work hard, with your feedback guiding us, to bring the best gaming experience to you all.
Having said that, we want to discuss with you the most pressing issues and development goals in these first days after the release. We are hard at work to improve the performance of the game, and thanks to your feedback we have already identified several problems. Some are fixed, some are identified and we expect to fix them soon. Check the patch notes below for a more comprehensive list. We end this update by explaining the most convenient ways to report bugs or send us your feedback. Stay tuned: in the coming weeks we will reveal the short-term development roadmap and the upcoming content!
Hotfixes
These bugs are already fixed:
- Fixed boot problems due to lack of a DLL file
- Modified some short fences in Hell's Kitchen (level 2) to fix weird bullet behavior
- Fixed a problem where players of players teleporting out of the door after falling into the water.
- Fixed where monsters being unkillable after the robot carrier explodes, resulting in a stuck level.
- Fixed a crash that happened after Sin Beetle disappears
- Fixed the vampire (Level 3) getting stuck in the organ, resulting in a stuck level.
- Fixed bird nests generating unstoppable birds the problem which let bird nest generate unstoppable birds
- Fixed some Translation bugs in English/Japanese Version (thanks for providing feedback in our discord server!)
Identified bugs
Bugs that we are aware of and we expect to fix this week:
1. Map
- Some spots in the map where you (or the monsters) can get stuck
- After clearing the room, some maps just don’t let you advance
- Various bugs around the map that forced you to restart the game
2. Boss
- Can’t trigger the Beezlebub/ Envi Boss Fight cutscenes
- A skill of Henry the Catfish Angler could get Dorothy’s magical skill stuck
3. Others:
- UI error after you edit key bindings
- Some hardware equipment could freeze or drop the FPS
Apart from these technical problems, we are already working in some gameplay and balancing points thanks to your feedback:
1. Difficulty
- We have already toned down the difficulty of the first and second level (which, based on the feedback we have received from our Closed Beta Group, could be harder than Level 3 at some points). ,
- Enemies aggro and attack speed are pretty high in the current version, which makes the melee weapons weaker
- In the near future we will keep fine-tuning the difficulty and the attacking to make the experience much smoother.
2. Skill Tree
- So far, two major points of feedback have been that some skills are too powerful and others are too expensive to unlock
- In the near future, we will start adjusting the skill tree. Overhauling the whole skill tree is not out of the question.
3. Blessing System
- One major feedback has been that thedrop rate of different some Blessings make them difficult to control and too luck-dependant. If we keep adding Monster Girls, this problem could grow worse.
- We will make players have a better control of the drop rate for each different Blessing, and overall adjust the whole Blessing system
- We plan to improve level and monster designs to make every design stand out even more, so everything in the game looks unique. We are looking for talent, so if you are an artist looking for a job and would be interested in joining our team, we're recruiting!
