What's in the update?
A new Door: Shield!
Two weeks in a row with new doors! I'm was excited/exhausted, I accidentally forced the shield door to appear in the door selection screen until it's selected. So you have plenty of chances to try it!
The shield can be a defensive tool or a physically offensive weapon. It sits around the player, blocking dangerous shots, but letting shots of the same color in to heal you. It also damages and pushes back enemies. But each piece of the shield (it can be broken up!) has hp and a cooldown, so charge in wisely...
- Upgrade: Shield covers more
- Upgrade: Shield rotates
- Upgrade: Shield has more hp
- Upgrade: Shield rebuilds faster
- Upgrade: Shield does more damage
- Upgrade: Shield is more pieces
- It currently does not pass status effects but in the future it will.
- There is a new boss coming that utilizes the shield (next week).
- I think I forgot the challenges to max out the shield upgrades. That'll be next week too.
What else?
Sorry, not too much. The shield really took it out of me this week! Sometimes programming is just like running your head into a wall, over and over. But we have some more things coming... More general conceptual plans have been made, as well as multi-week projects like new bgm and fonts
- Bees should be less deadly now. Less poison, but now they slow too.
- New font and background music in the works.
- Known bug: The upgrade to teleport when in danger- it's too sensitive. Do it max one time, but I'd stay away for now.
- There's over 100 different upgrades available now, all to max out and make the game go bananas in unique ways!
