I've pushed a minor change that should in theory address the slowdowns that were happening on windows platform, without the need for players to use dx11 beta build.
In my tests it works and fps doesn't drop to 24 with everything dragging around slowly, but this was a wild run so you'll have to test for yourself if the game is sticking close to 30fps with gameplay simply flying.
