We have released VBOX Sim v1.0.45, including full iRacing support.

Now, iRacing telemetry including accurate position is automatically integrated into VBOX Sim when a log file is completed.

Once VBOX Sim has stopped logging (when you finish a race or become stationary for 5 seconds), it will synchronize the vbo file with the iRacing telemetry file. The vbo can then be opened in Circuit Tools, where the track will be correctly identified and the map will show an accurate position.

iRacing telemetry files can get quite large, so by default we clear telemetry files that are more than one week old. It is possible to switch this off in the 'help' tab.

You may notice that there are 2 vbo files for a given video file for iRacing, both with the same name but on with a 'backup' suffix. This is the original vbo logged by VBOX Sim in case something goes wrong and you need to revert. This hasn't happened to us in our testing but is there just in case.

Circuit Tools v2.9

VBOX Sim works best with Circuit Tools version 2.9.30 and above. Unfortunately, we discovered that the last release of VBOX Sim included circuit tools version 2.8.20, which will has issues with larger video files. This new version of VBOX Sim includes Circuit Tools 2.9.30, accessible via the help tab. NOTE: the Racelogic website has an earlier release so install from within VBOX Sim.

Known issues

When using iRacing with the 'No Video' video capture option, the iRacing telemetry is not being integrated. We will soon be releasing a new version on the public beta branch with a fix.

OBS integration coming soon

The next release will contain integration with OBS for video capture. On some machine/display configurations this will provide a significant performance boost. This will be available early Feb on the public beta branch. If you need OBS integration sooner, get in touch and we can arrange this.

Can't find your track?

if you find a track that is not detected, it may not be in our circuit database. Use the request form on https://www.vboxmotorsport.co.uk/index.php/en/customer-ct-track-database and we'll do our best to add it.

Get in touch

If you encounter issues then as ever, please contact us via email: simsupport@racelogic.co.uk and we will endeavour to get you back up and running.
