Our first semi-major update to the game went live. It brings a new pattern match and a new bonus item. It goes boom!
Just match items in T- or L-pattern, and you'll get a "bomb" bonus item. Match this one, and it will obliterate all the items around it.
Almost all the challenge levels were also rebalanced, it should be much easier to clear out the stories now.
We’ve also had a couple of awesome people reach out to us about the help with the localization, and we’ve already included some improved scripts and UI localization changes.
There are also a number of bugfixes related to the challenge level freezes and script mix-ups.
Upcoming goodies
Right now we’re working on implementing the “story mode” and achievements. We also got green light on adding trading cards and community items to the game, so expect the first set soon!And we are working on a FREE bonus story, coming this February. Don’t want to spoil it too much, so will only share a couple of storyboard clippings for now:

Future of Furlough Games
And now to some less cheery news. First of all, we are incredibly grateful for all the great reception the game got, and we are super happy that so many people found it fun.Alas, our sales still fell short of the amount that was required to keep the whole studio working full-time. So, keeping true to our name, we are downsizing, at least for a time. Our lead developer is going to return to the contract work, and the rest of us will pick up some side gigs as well.
That said, we have no plans to give up just yet. The artists all got paid in full, so we are starting work on another game. It won’t be a sequel, more of a sidequel. Same genre, but targeting a different niche, one with a more mass-market appeal. If we can make this work, we will try to alternate between niches, and if at all possible, explore even more underserved ones in the future.
