SPACE / MECH / PILOT V1.0 IS HERE! Play the idle-RPG of the cosmos for completely FREE!
On behalf of everyone at the S/M/P Team, we can't thank you enough for supporting the development of our game. We originally wanted to make something scrappy and quick in a week - but it's now blossomed to a project that we can happily consider to be SKY HOUR WORKS' most polished and complete adventure yet.
With the 1.0 launch comes the release of our game's SUPPORTER PACK DLCs. Remember - the game is, and will always be a freeware title. However, if you want to support future updates (and the project as a whole), please consider purchasing them!
=SUPPORTER'S PACK DLC=
- THE UNIVERSE DRIVE has been released. You can now purchase THE UNIVERSE DRIVE on Steam for $8, including the game's artbook, bonus "assets", and a playable prototype build debating back to the first few weeks of development.
- The Soundtrack has been released. You can now purchase it for $2. Also available on Ruky's Bandcamp.
- If you wish to get both, you can purchase SPACE / MECH / PILOT V1.0 - THE UNIVERSE DRIVE + OST for $10!
Changes relating to events / mechanics introduced in the campaign are spoiler-tagged. These will primarily be relevant for those who have already played the STEAM GAME FESTIVAL: AUTUMN EDITION version.
=V1.0 CHANGES=
- REWIND has been added. If you've beaten the main campaign - open it up and check it out :)
- Adjusted end-game text to explain REWIND.
- Steam Integration has been enabled. You can now take advantage of Steam Achievements, Leaderboards, and Cloud Saves!
- M.DAMAGE is now shown alongside ATK POWER in the main UI
- As a thank you for everyone who's played the STEAM GAME FESTIVAL: AUTUMN EDITION demo, you will receive +500 AP upon boot up if you unlocked the cellphone in the demo. You will not restore it upon deleting a save or REWINDing. If you've beaten the campaign, you'll also be treated to an explanation on REWIND.
- Confirmations till deletion now increased to 10.
- The ability to disable fixing enemies to your level upon level up has been removed.
- The date on the top-left clock has been shifted to the left slightly.
- (RANK 1) Kato has an additional 3 dialogue poses: Happy, Confused, and Blushing.*
- (RANK 5) F.BOOST has received a nearly 5000% buff. The cooldown is now 10 seconds longer.
- (RANK 7) Rank Requirements text adjusted to improve clarity.
- (RANK 7/8) Fixed a bug that resulted in the UNIVERSE NAVIGATOR Manual being purchasable too early.
- (RANK 10) Added new FINAL REPORT artwork for repeat playthroughs, drawn by Cami/L0VEBREAK!
* (RANK 1) - As the three new dialogue poses were added fairly late into development, they are not used sparingly. A future patch may feature more usage of Kato's confused/blushing poses respectively.
=KNOWN ISSUES=
- POTENTIAL HIGH CPU USAGE ISSUES. Please see here.
- Currently, there is no way to use the Steam screenshot feature for the game.
- The Laser and Black Hole cooldown values are currently wrong - reaching a high social rank will make them deploy multiple times and cause them to spawn at the same time.
- REWIND Lvl XP Boost is inaccurate - it isn't a "14% XP boost" if you're Rewind LVL 1314 for example - it's actually a "1314% boost".
- Deleting saves and saving a new one will save over your Steam Leaderboards.
=THE FUTURE OF SPACE / MECH / PILOT=
We have some exciting plans for the future of this project. We're interested in developing post-content for the game (and we have a very good idea what said post-content will be like if we get to doing it), as well as bringing the game to more platforms (Mac/Linux/H***5 wink wink), but for now, we'll be taking a break on this project.Regardless, your support (both with the supporter's pack DLC and playing the game) will help us gauge interest in said-future content for S/M/P - so despite sounding like a broken record already, if you enjoyed what you've played of the game, please consider buying both THE UNIVERSE DRIVE and the game's soundtrack!
Don't worry - we'll be monitoring for feedback and will potentially release balancing changes and minor patches throughout the next few days/weeks. But as of today - V1.0 marks the first (and for now) last chapter of the SPACE / MECH / PILOT project.
