Hi Pilots,

Multiplayer. The final frontier. The shared voyages of starship Nemesis, Eris, Narcissus, and Artemis begin today.

This update adds a new game - Captain Together - to the Captain Forever Trilogy package. Modelled on Captain Successor, Together allows 2-4 players to simultaneously build, fly, and shoot their way through the galaxy, through local co-op and online with Steam Remote Play Together.

Getting Started

1. Open your Steam Library and select Captain Forever Trilogy
   
2. Click Play
   
3. Select Play Captain Together
   
4. Click Play
   
5. Select the number of pilots
   
6. Check the various ship manuals for each ship's unique keybindings
   
7. Click Launch
   

Note that although each player has their own keys, all players share the same mouse and mouse cursor.

Playing Online

Even though Captain Together is build as a local co-op game, it's really intended to be played online via Steam's Remote Play Together system. To use this, first launch Captain Together (as above), then press Shift+Tab to open the Steam overlay. Select View All Friends, find a friend to invite to your game, right click on their name, and then select Remote Play Together. You can find more details about Remote Play Together here.

Quick Chat

Not everyone likes voice chat, so Captain Together includes a new system for communicating with other players. Simply tap your forward and reverse thrust keys simultaneously to bring up your quick chat menu, then press the corresponding thrust key to send your message. For example, player 1 (Nemesis) can tap W+S then Q to suggest the party bug out from a bad situation. Player 2 (Eris) can then hit UP ARROW + DOWN ARROW then DOWN ARROW to decline.

Finding a Game

Remote Play Together only requires that the host owns the game, so you can invite anyone at all from your Steam friends list to join in. If your friends aren't keen, you can also hop in to the Captain Forever Discord server to find pilots for your squad.
