Gameplay
- Added “Continue” screen and practice mode that allows you to keep playing even after losing, however, score, leaderboard submission and achievements will be disabled.
- The exit portal is now telegraphed with a special effect that lasts 2 seconds, now the exit portal will no longer surprise you and force you to exit the level.
Optimization
- Player bullets will now check for collisions once every 4 frames, instead of every frame. This helps keep the framerate at 60 fps when the player’s primary weapon is at maximum level.
Audio
- Added more sound effects to the first and second bosses. Mostly shooting sounds (pew pew pew!).
- Changed the player’s shooting sound effect to a more “sci fi” version more appropriate to the theme of the game.
- Fix: when pausing the game, all currently playing sounds are stopped.
- Lowered volume of the first level track
- Now level 1 and level 2 share the same music tracks, one is picked randomly at the start of the level
