A quick build tonight to add a new feature for townspeople homes and fix a couple of town related bugs.
One of the things I hear a lot from people when they first play HammerHelm is they don't realize that the townspeople homes can be furnished. You place a house and walk inside and it's empty! Kind of a letdown if you don't know they can have furniture.
So when placing a house, the furniture that hasn't been built yet will appear as "ghosted" placeholders. As furniture is crafted and placed, the new furniture replaces the placeholder.
A the two bug fixes:
- Carpenters will no longer drop their quality wood when they aren't ready to craft. This could cause the Carpenter to get confused after returning from the Storehouse with Quality Wood.
- The Town Management UI arrows to switch between the NPC list and the resource list will now correctly work. I broke this when I added the extra information to the Townspeople traits.
I'm still working on getting the Fire and Ice Elementals set up and the Stone Elemental is still in progress as well. Once he's done I'll get them all in the game.
I also got the new environment art back from the 3D artist. There's a lot! A new tree (to add to the previous three), new rocks, new flowers, some bushes, etc. It's like digital Christmas in March! :)
It's going to take me a while to redo the world map with the new assets, but I'll likely create a "visual goal" test using all of the new art so you can see how the game will look when it's all in.
