This patch adds sloped platforms, fixes a loading crash, makes legendary items better, rebalances a bunch of things, and fixes many other minor issues.

0.834 change list:

  • made sloped platform blocks

  • fixed a loading crash (Marshy/ScrObot)

  • fixed another way NPCs could spawn at too high level (special rooms related) (Tuidjy/Telkir)

  • no longer skip special room spawning if too close to player (normally only happens if too close to starting position)

  • legendary items can no longer get a curse for their random modifier (Omnislash)

  • legendary items can now randomly get a cursed Mutation magic modifier (exception to no Cursed) (Tuidjy)

  • increased staff blocking 34%

  • fixed a couple issues with spawning non-valid wandering vendor (hopefully fixes vendors in town with no items)

  • now gem gifts between people is 1/4 happiness boost of what it would be to give it directly to npc so now actual choice of gifting directly or between NPCs

  • now quests escalate faster if in multiplayer and more than 1 player (40% per extra player)

  • fixed dying fom lack of oxygen not showing damage numbers

  • now when monsters drop specific loot (like skins & gems) the level range is tighter to their own level (1-7/instead of 3-15)

  • now cloth plant/fibers have chance to spawn 3 per plant instead of 2

  • increased Targ Weight from 1.5 to 1.75

  • fixed most two handed maces not unlocking in collection correctly

  • now monsters won't turn off lights until level 10

  • now only show you NPC chat icon if the NPC wants to say something to your specific player (only matters in multiplayer)

  • increased HappinessChangeDonation from 1.0 to 4.0

  • increased SearchForEnemyPriceBase/SearchForEnemyPricePerLevel from 10.0/10.0 to 15.0/15.0

  • now show player names on world map

  • made effects smaller on imps, zombie parasites, shadows, leprechauns (and zombie versions)

  • fixed player basic regen not getting set up correctly if resume a game where player is dead and hasn't resurrected yet

  • fixed house basements sometimes getting filled in with foundations

  • added stairs to some houses

  • now destroying rock objects will drop some kind of stone

  • decreased s_volumeMaster from 0.5 to 0.4

  • now most fiber plants have a main range and an uncommon range (phase out)

  • decreased painting HouseSpawnChance from 0.005 to 0.0025

  • fixed trigger quest being able to pick a bad location and not fail the quest

  • fixed getting no complete sound when recovering a dead body (quest)

  • holy water now casts a pinkish light

  • you can now add sockets to tools (desophos/ulyssessword)

  • added a new announce sound for uprising quests

  • added a new announce sound for unique monster quests

  • now alt works showing items even if monsters nearby

  • will no longer start more than 1 of the same monster on sight sound at the same time

  • now monsters have to go through their senses time when first spawned before they react to things

  • now show what percent you have accomplished directly on achievement icons (pie shading)

  • added theme music on sound options page so easier to tell what some of the sound volumes do

  • now platforms draw behind objects

  • fixed some staves not having tags used for swipes

  • fixed threat bar and quest history icon overlapping on quest screen

  • fixed player names on game screen in multiplayer drawing below health bar outline

  • stacked X item to chest no longer goes to log (just center printed)

  • salvaged X ore no longer goes to log (just center printed)

  • increased switch places with NPC max distance a little (basically another tile width)

  • fixed coal block texture

  • fixed some rendering issues in editor

  • made love potion liquid more pink

  • made vials of liquids more colorful so easier to tell them apart

  • sped up guardian dying animation

  • will no longer spawn non-moving monsters in opening screen game

  • now use full gem name when printing gift messages

  • fixed found bridge message not printing correctly

  • expanded EffectsScale to MonsterArchetype

  • fixed MonsterTrapTowerFire and MonsterTrapTowerIce not having names when selected in game

  • fixed getting unbreakable blocks in bottom 2 corners of the world (ulyssessword/Faya AOP)

  • fixed getting random blocks in top 2 corners of the world (Faya AOP)

  • armor shown on create character screen is now more likely the one players actually use

  • turned off helmets on create character screen for now

  • changed material for teleport stone recharge from Obsidian to Schorl

  • now get "Can now choose an additional specialty!" message when level up to level 10 or 20

  • fixed Dark Wolf plural spelling

  • fixed typo in Brave personality description (Tuidjy)

  • fixed issues in drawPie/drawBackwardsPie (issues that weren't seen before because always used with a black texture)
