0.5.3

0.5.3 features a lot of changes. We focused on UX improvements to make everything more fluid and nice, but we're also putting a couple of new features on test.

Bag Upgrades

At the end of every biomes you will now find a (placeholder) screen where you can choose from 4 bag upgrades!

  • You can make your bag bigger by adding new pockets

  • You can get "Straps" that allow you to carry any item you want

  • You can even stick Badges to your bag to get unique bonuses!

"Strength" mechanic has been discontinued.

New biomes prototypes

2 new regions can now be explored. Art is not done so we're using placeholder art and some color swap to show the change. The aim is to test how having a variety of biomes can impact gameplay and overall pacing.

A "cold" biome where low temperature can freeze items right in your bag. The biome is also heavier on fatigue but lighter on challenges.

Home of the mysterious Ants, the jungle features more fights. But Rust will also damage your metallic items!

New effects

We updated art and FX and older effects but we're also testing a couple of new ones.

Cold

As shown above, low temperatures can feeze your items in your bag and make them unmovable. To balance the effect, "Fear" will now only make your items unusable. You'll be able to move them.

Illness

Already in previous version, illness make your items weaker, but moreover will spread every time your travel!

Madness

A very fun effect that can someone turn in your favor, Madness will shuffle your object effects. Maybe it will make it better?

Prediction & Remove Ailment

Two new mechanics have been introduced. "Prediction" was an old mechanic that's now used to reveal info on the Mountain Map. The higher you go the more you'll need it!

To compensate the addition of new negative effect, a new positive effect has been added: Remove Ailment will cure any issue on an item.

Many bugs have been fixed, and tons of new UX effects have been added to make the whole experience more fluid and nice. We hope you'll like it!

Playtest is now open to everyone!

From 0.5.3 and until the official Demo is added in september, playtest is now open to everyone! Let your friends know!
