Hey Everyone
Today we’re releasing a major update for Renaissance Kingdom Wars focused on deep engine-level improvements and fixing the most disruptive issues reported by our players. This patch is the result of weeks of focused work — tackling major performance problems, rare crashes, AI bugs, and first-run issues that affected many new players.
In addition to major stability and performance upgrades, we’ve expanded resolution support, overhauled AI behavior on both the world map and in RTS combat, and added numerous quality-of-life improvements across the UI. This is one of our biggest updates yet, laying a stronger foundation for future content and smoother gameplay.
Full patch notes below, for game version 14 (please not that I`m only listing the biggest changes, a lot of work was on back end and not apparent from the usual gameplay)
STARTUP ISSUES
Resolved various issues affecting the first game launch
Addressed a rare bug preventing some players from launching the game at all
Corrected crash occurrences for certain players on first run
Fixed low-resolution defaults experienced by some users during initial startup
Patched two rare startup crash cases
STABILITY FIXES
Resolved crash during combat scenarios
Fixed crashes occurring while loading battles
Addressed two separate crashes when switching levels
Eliminated crash occurring when entering the world map
RESOLUTION ISSUES
Corrected resolution detection problems
Optimized game performance for high-resolution displays
Resolved lag and stuttering on certain resolution settings
Added full support for a wide range of ultrawide resolutions
PERFORMANCE
VSync now functions properly and is reliably enabled
Improved load times for large towns
Eliminated lag spikes occurring on specific system configurations
Optimized performance at 4K and higher resolutions
Reduced initial game loading time
Significantly reduced world map lag spikes
Resolved intermittent 2–3 second lag pauses on the world map
Enhanced camera scroll performance
Improved AI behavior
Corrected issue where armies idled instead of acting on the world map
Resolved problem with armies reaching a destination but failing to initiate combat
Fixed bugs with RTS unit retreat behavior
AI no longer suicidally charges vastly superior forces in RTS battles
Improved AI army composition logic
Enhanced AI performance during field battles
OTHER FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS
Campaign and battle difficulty can now be changed via the campaign map ESC menu
City names are now displayed correctly in the world map attack window
Loading screen tips now support longer text without being cut off
Enhanced visuals and layout on the loading screen
Improvements to Research and Attack windows
Various UI upgrades across the interface
Changed files in this update
