Surprise Update!!
Not sure if anyone noticed, but today marks the one-year anniversary of Emberward's Early Access!
(I was so naive to think I could finish the game in one year...Emberward is now at least three times bigger than I originally planned.)
This past year has been insanely busy and exhausting, but also a lot of fun! I've had the chance to meet players from all over the world, learned a ton of things I never expected to deal with, and…released a bunch of bugs. Honestly, I wouldn't have made it this far without everyone's support. Thank you all for playing the game, allowing me to work on it full-time!
Also, a huge thank you to all the players, Youtubers, and streamers who helped spread the word about the game! There's no way I could've reached so many people on my own (and please continue to recommend the game to your friends! I really need the help 😭). And I really appreciate everyone who gave feedback on Discord, by email, through surveys, or even joined the playtests. Your feedback was incredibly helpful in helping me improve the game!
Anyway, thank you all for your support and help throughout the year! This update was made as a special thank you, and...it's probably the weirdest patch you've ever seen in Emberward.
(I know a lot of you have been trying so hard to clear Infernal Shards 24 that your blood pressure is through the roof. Hopefully this update will help you relax a little!)
Hope you enjoy the update, have fun!

New Feature
New Character: Scrap Master (Anniversary Special Event Character)
Once a legendary inventor at the Academy, she left to wander the world in search of inspiration.
Unlock by clearing Sealed Citadel on any difficulty.
Like the Joker, Scrapmaster is also a special event character. Once the achievement system is in the game, harder achievements will not be obtainable using special event characters.
(By the way, some players asked during the last April Fools' event why event characters need to be unlocked, instead of being available to everyone right away. It's mainly because event characters are all about adding fun, maybe even a little silly ideas into the game, which makes their balance and playstyles different from regular characters. If they were available from the start, many new players' first run would be using an event character, which would make their experience very strange. So that's why these characters only unlock after clearing all the regions on any difficulty!)
