Hello!

We're back with the last update before 1.0 drops in August!

Seeing as most of our small team has been working on the ton of content that will come with the 1.0 release in August, this update is full of 'Quality of Life' features and changes that put the game in a good place before the final push.

Let's do the new features first!

New Feature – Arsenal 

  • After unlocking a certain number of items in a category (Weapons, Tools and Medallions) you’ll unlock its Arsenal, allowing you to ban a limited number of items from that category - blocking them from appearing during your runs.

You don’t like a certain weapon? Just ban it!

Warning: you may hurt the feelings of the devs who lovingly crafted that weapon...

New Feature – Mini Map and World Map Legends 

  • The Mini and World Map have been filled up with a lot of information and icons, and it can be difficult to remember what is what.

  • To help with that, we’ve added legends in both maps that can be toggled on and off. 

Perfect for people like me who have a sieve for a brain 🙏

New Feature – Tutorials compendium 

  • We’ve added a compendium in the Pause Menu that will allow you to revisit the tutorials you've seen. Mostly in case you forgot something and can't be arsed to Google it, but also you'll be able to find some more information about the game's features!

New Feature – Story Objectives 

  • To help players remember what they should be looking for to progress in the story (and therefore unlock content) we’ve added Story Objectives - high level reminders based on what you already know.

  • These objectives will appear in the Mind Map, when the Objective changes and when entering/leaving the Oasis.

And now the reworks/additions...

Rework - some Awakening Stones

  • Reworked some Stones and added new ones (especially around Death Defiance to nerf it at higher difficulties because it's TOO STRONG)

  • Let us know what you think :)

     

Rework - Medallion destruction (or not)

  • Medallions are no longer destroyed!

  • If you’re already full and want to pick-up a new one, the medallion you replace will fall on the ground so you can recycle it (or leave it there for later, that’s your choice after all) 

I think we all know this is the GOAT of the update...

Rework - Book of Heads

  • Added missing quests 

  • Rework of all weapon and tool-specific quests. We’ve heard your feedback about those ones, and we agree, so we changed them 😊 

  • Reworked the bosses' last quests to not be hitless, this is now specific to the achievement only

  • Reduced overall values of quest requirements

  • Increased rewards 

Rework - Recycle ability

  • Reworked the amount of gold given when you recycle.

  • Improved legibility of the progress when you hold the button to recycle (another GOAT!).

Balancing

  • Quick balancing pass on everything, bosses included. 
       

Optimization

  • A never-ending work to improve the game’s performance...

And that's it! Let us know what you think about all of that - we're concentrated on 1.0 but there's always room for balancing and tweaking!

As well as this being the last update before 1.0, we've also got the last discount before 1.0 in the Steam Summer Sale so this'll be the last chance to get the game at a good deal for a little while - just sayin....
