The 57th weekly update for 'Shell of a King' is here. As always, if you find any bugs, especially game-breaking ones please let me know via the official Discord! I can always revert to an earlier update if something breaks!

1.2p Change List:

  • Add player item visuals for the following items: Golden Bracers, Golden Yolk, Serpent Hunter, Spider Eye, Brightstone Ring, Twin Humanities, Soul Shaper, Bubble Shot, Vile Talisman, Book of Harvest, Stone Snake Soul, Stinky Sock, Spectral Stiletto, Golden Sword, Agate Dagger, Buster Katana, Staff of Horrors, Ballista Bolt, Essence of Fire, Essence of Water, Essence of Earth, Essence of Lightning.

  • The Fishing bobbers get a new look

  • The Angel Statue gets a new look

  • The Statues in the Temple of the 8 get a new look

  • The Fallen General ghost form gets a new look

  • Shootable switches get a new look

  • The one-way breakable wall separating the Queen's Garden from the Meadow gets a new look

  • Change the player shot sounds once again

  • Rename the Wavy charm to the Red Pinwheel

  • Add a bunch more small sounds to various things

  • Add fade tiles to Lower sewers and the Hall of Mistakes

  • Add the missing wall-top tile combos and correct the side matching for Deep Sewers and Meadow of Whispers

  • Add a 0.3s lockout to resting and waking to prevent wacky spamming

  • Add a bunch of charm-checking optimizations to improve performance with many charms equipped

  • Upscale the interact star sprite resolution

  • Change square particle effects to be circular

  • Delete the player's 3d hitbox, I don't think it's used anywhere lol

  • Replace the breakable wall near the Cannonball charm with a switch that disables the arrow wall

  • Clean up the east exit of Deep Sewers

  • Various collision changes for performance

  • Fix up some player body sprites

  • Fix the bullet death color being incorrect

  • Fix jittery movement for Bats, The Temporal Construct, and Fallen General

  • Fix the shadow dropdown graphics settings selection not saving correctly

  • Fix some UI alignment

  • Fix some clipping quads I broke in the last update, particularly in the Meadow of Whispers

  • Fix strange tiling in the Magus boss room

  • Fix poorly looping water sounds

  • Fix being able to see poison indicator on broken spider eggs

  • Fix damage screen shake continuing into pause and respawn

  • Fix some Pricilla sprite placements

  • Fix player hitbox shifting slightly on dodge roll

  • A bunch of other small changes and bug fixes

  • Internal changes
