Hiya
rat here - I feel like there's a need to clarify what BotGhost is saying
in the article, it states that bmd does not clarify what it does with user data.
WELL, LET'S DO A LEGAL LESSON
In BotGhosts article, the following is stated:
"STORES ALL USER BOT TOKENS". Excuse me? What do you mean by all users? You can create a project and edit the bot token in the files of the bot instead of via the app. People have done this and there is an automation (don't remember if it's still in the works or not) made by Nade that lets users store their token separately so the app doesn't access it.
Why is this? BMD, unlike BotGhost, runs your bot LOCALLY. Your data doesn't leave your device unless you make it available to Discord.
Now, my stance on what discord just pulled on BotGhost remains the same: shameful and miserable. Does this excuse what misinformation they're spreading? No.
I asked the developer of BotGhost to make sure the information he passes forwards is CORRECT AND UNINTERPRETABLE. No answer! I DMed a moderator and they said they'll escalate it. No further replies.
I have clarified that the app does not transmit any data to anyone except discord and steam and have updated the privacy policy. https://pastebin.com/anT9YARt (thanks chatgpt)
Btw sorry for not updating this month, my A key broke and I had to type this thing on my phone (thanks HP, your keyboards are as durable as your hinges)
