Difficulty Update Available Now!
Some players said the game was too easy. Others said it was too hard. And many asked for more creative ways to play. So I listened - and this free content update is for all of you. With new difficulty settings and optional gameplay modifiers, you can now tailor the experience exactly how you want it. 👽
🔧Difficulty Selection
You can now choose between Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulties when starting a game. Whether you're here for the story or a brutal challenge, there's a mode for you.
💀Custom Difficulty Modifiers
Looking for a truly custom experience? Activate one or more Difficulty Modifiers to spice things up. Inspired by the Skull system in Halo, these optional tweaks dramatically change the way the game plays. You can unlock them by finding Dr Antonius' Research Logs!
Here's what you can enable:
One Vision - Attaches a camera to the Survivor. All other cameras are disabled.
Finishing The Fight - John brings a gun instead of a flashlight.
Blind And Deaf - The Monster makes no sound when moving or breathing. Survivor icon is removed from the minimap.
Out of Time - Minigames no longer pause the game. Think fast.
Never Safe - All hiding spots are removed from the map.
Unlimited Power - Cameras & ship navigation systems are always online, no batteries required.
Speed - Survivor AND Monster movement speeds are increased by 50%.
Mix and match to create your perfect nightmare.
🐞Bug Fixes & Improvements
This update also includes several bug fixes and quality-of-life tweaks:
fixed a potential issue where the victory screen didn't show up in the prologue and Engineering Bay levels
added a checkpoint in the Spacewalk level after turning on the engines.
the monster now starts patrolling from the same point each level
the monster will now properly go to alarm location upon triggering it
QTE ui animation changed to not be misleading
symbols can now be pressed directly on their icon in addition to their corresponding button in the symbols minigame
hair is now visible on the player shadow
increased spacewalk movement speed by 50% and jump height slightly
added an option to skip the bridge sequence in the final boss level
clamped FOV slider to 70<->110 to prevent disjointed arm
fixed a bug where players would stay connected after the end credits rolled
