Greetings, lost souls!

It's been a couple of months since we last posted any big updates, but "The Bells Toll" should make it up for that. With this update, we focused on adding two new regions - Cathedral of Silent Oaths and The Foundry, located above the Depraved Estate of Sanctora.

The Bells Toll (v0.3.0.202506191332) Patch notes:

New Content:

  • New languages available: Japanese, Polish, Russian, Chinese, and Serbian (more to come)!

  • Two new regions: Cathedral of Silent Oaths and The Foundry.

  • Infinite reroll rework: After completing "Soldier of Light", the first skill choice allows you to pick any skill and use up all your banishes in a screen that lists all unlocked skills.

  • New skill: Ethereal Blade (Astromancer) - A buff that lasts for a short time, causing your attacks to spawn an ethereal blade to strike enemies in front of you. Has a medium cooldown.

  • New Skill: Celestial Shard (Astromancer) - A shard bounces between all enemies, dealing magic damage to each enemy hit. After it has hit all enemies, it returns to you and grants you u barrier for each enemy hit.

  • New Skill: Power Overwhelming (Astromancer) - When hitting enemies with your attacks, it increases your magic damage and slows your movement speed. When dashing, clear the buff/debuff, and leave an arcane sphere behind that shoots arcane missiles at nearby enemies.

  • New Unique: Sword of Ruin - Unique Two Handed Swords - a colossal two-handed sword which attacks at a constant rate, but makes your attack speed scale your physical damage instead.

  • New Unique: Paleskin - Unique Medium Armor - upon being hit, blinds all enemies and increases dodge chance for a short duration.

  • New Unique: Warden's Guise - Unique Cloth Armor - upon being hit, triggers an arcane nova which does magic damage around you and grants a barrier for each enemy hit (10s cooldown).

  • New Unique: Devourer's Maw - Unique Heavy Armor - upon being hit by direct damage, gain increased resistance and bonus attack damage of the same type as incoming damage.

  • New Unique: Covetous Storm Ring - Unique Ring - all damage can now apply shock. Upon applying 6 stacks of Shock on an enemy, fire a chain lightning at that enemy and remove all Shock charges.

  • 8 new Prophecies

  • New Tier 4 armors, weapons, and jewelry.

Balance Changes:

Skills/General:

  • All characters are un-stunnable for 4 seconds after being stunned.

  • Strength now adds 0.3 block force per point.

  • Elemental Overload now consumes all stacks when firing a nova, and the damage of the nova is increased based on the number of stacks consumed.

  • Killer Instinct critical damage per stack reduced from 10/15/20/25/30% to 10/12.5/15/17.5/20%.

  • Thundergod's Wrath movement speed increased.

  • Critical Damage is greatly reduced on gear and stars.

Enemies:

  • Boss kills now guarantee Unique item drops if there are any items left in the pool that haven't dropped in the run.

  • Istwan, the Blade of Light, does less damage, has less armor and resistances, and doesn't do damage when taking off into his power move.

  • Some enemies will now rotate even when attacking, making it harder to simply run behind them to avoid attacks.

  • Scholar Adepts will now block incoming attacks when not attacking. If they block an attack, a magic spear appears above their head. Upon blocking 3 incoming attacks, they launch their spears towards the attacker, dealing magic damage on hit.

  • College Apprentices now use Magic Swords in addition to regular magic pebbles.

  • Headmaster Ludwig's spinning blades now fly in a smaller arc to his sides.

  • Heralds' attack pattern reworked.

Items:

  • Nerfed wands: all wands have their attack range reduced from 10 to 5.

  • Most cloth armors and helmets now provide an increased maximum barrier.

  • The upper floor of the College dormitory now acts as an arena, locking you in until you defeat 3 waves of enemies.

  • Executioner's Cowl's bonus critical damage no longer stacks, and its bonus is reduced from 50% to 40%, and its Strength bonus is reduced from 10-12 to 6-8.

  • Twisted Crow's Effigy bonus is halved instead of reset on damage taken.

We have decided to remove Compendium for now as we're not updating it regularly, and it doesn't make too much sense to have it until we're done with the early access content.

Bug Fixes / Quality of Life:

  • Changed how damage text appears so it's less jittery and a bit smaller to reduce visual noise.

  • Replaced "Best Time" with "Prophecies Fulfilled" in the run end screen because "Best Time" no longer makes sense since run times dramatically change with every content addition.

  • You can now change how your cursor looks in the game - Old cursor, new brighter cursor, or the system's default cursor.

  • You can now begin your attacks when dashing/charging.

  • Ethereal bridges now hint at their location only the first time they're discovered.

  • Bug Fix: Rats nest now properly resume spawning rats when disengaged and then engaged again.

  • Bug Fix: Fixed a bug that caused the next character level to be displayed improperly in the run completed screen.

  • Bug Fix: Fixed golden braziers still emitting light after you've used them and reloaded the scene.

  • Bug Fix: Fixed ethereal bridges moving the camera when reloading the scene.

  • Bug Fix: Fixed a bug that caused your game to be responsive when trying to choose a skill while none are available after getting a random skill from the shop.

  • Bug Fix: Fixed deadeye not firing multishots with certain weapons.

  • Bug Fix: Fixed a bug that caused inquisitors to not stay dead when revived by Istwan.
