Kiborg is now officially Steam Deck Verified!
To achieve this milestone, we’ve significantly improved the Steam Deck interface and enhanced text readability throughout the game.
🐞 Major Bug Fix
Fixed a critical bug that caused the game to crash when pressing "Play Game." Enjoy a smoother experience!⚡ Balance Changes
Blur
- Secondary stats now provide more speed: 5% → 10%
- Fire damage bonus from attack chain increased: 0.1% → 0.3%
- Slow motion from Blur Spine reduced: 40/50/60/70% → 20/25/30/40%
- Attack chain duration bonus from major synergy increased: +1s → +3s
Fenrir
- Altars now count all deaths in the zone.
Gunslinger
- Knives from the left hand now travel farther, no longer getting stuck mid-air, and reliably fly toward walls.
Source
- Source implants now grant stronger bonuses when combined with other implants.
- Allied health has decreased, but their damage has increased.
Thundergod
- Thunderstorm Attractor augmentation now summons lightning instead of just buffing it.
- Free Spark now has a new effect: Restores 10% of battery after killing an enemy.
Remedium
- Removed health bonus from Remedium secondary stats.
- Right Hand poison buildup from attacks increased: 10 → 40
- Left Hand poison buildup from blocking increased: 20 → 40
Dev Comment: Remedium was too tanky without meaningful early-game damage options. These changes provide more offensive tools earlier in the game.
Guardian
- Removed the outdated part of the minor synergy:
“You receive positive status effects of your allies, while allies receive yours.”
- New major synergy effect:
Each shield increases melee damage by 1%. This bonus increases by 1% per shield.
Dev Comment: These changes remove outdated effects and introduce much-needed late-game damage scaling for the set.
Sovereign
- Swapped the effects of the minor and major synergies.
⚔️ Combat
Dash attack damage reduced.Combo attack damage increased for:
- Ankhil
- Balmung
- Gáe Bolg
- Gan Jiang
- Mjölnir
- Kusanagi
Dev Comment: We want to keep dash attacks primarily as movement tools while rewarding players for engaging in close combat and executing combos.
👾 Enemies
- Disabled Loader’s gravity pull attack to prevent softlocks.
- Chemist explosion now has a trigger chance; radius and timing adjusted.
- Incubator projectile now travels faster, but is less magnetic to targets.
🛠️ Weapon Mods
Death Bonus effect reduced: 3% → 1%Fortune Matrix nerfed: 0.25/0.5/0.75/1% per token → 0.1/0.2/0.3/0.4%
Disabled the following melee mods:
- Awaken Rage
- Awaken Defense
- Awaken Blood
- Awaken Life
- Awaken Symbiosis
- Transcend Rage
- Transcend Defense
- Transcend Blood
- Transcend Life
- Transcend Symbiosis
Dev Comment: These mods cluttered loot drops and had minimal impact. Disabling them improves the overall quality of high-rarity weapons.
⚠️ Traps
- Laser: lasts longer, moves slower, deals more damage.
- Flamethrower: duration increased.
- Hand trap: more accurate, hits for longer.
Dev Comment: These changes improve clarity and fairness when dealing with traps.
🔧 Other Changes
- Implant primary stats (such as shields from Guardian or energy from Thundergod) are now unlocked from the beginning of the game.
- Ammo Drops perk is nerfed: 15 ammo → 10 ammo
- Enemy level increased in stages 2 and 3 on difficulties 6 and 7
- Smoothed difficulty curve between floor 1 end and floor 2 middle
- The Second Wind super attack is now locked until the beginning of the first fight
- Russian Roulette can no longer kill the player and now leaves them at 1 health instead
- Safe rewards adjusted:
- Tokens: 150 → 120
- Ammo: 150 → 100
- Player now repels allies when moving
- Increased max FOV for ultra-wide screens
- New UI for the start and end of combat animations
- Soldiers now have an alternative model
🎬 Animations
- Updated block-break animations for several enemies
- Tweaked knife attack animations
- New dismemberment death animations
- Updated animation for Agent Fenrir
- Improved asteroid visuals and animation
- Polished heavy sword animations
- Updated Lancer visual effects
🧰 Fixes
- Fixed damage types for Generator Protocol, Golden Rod, and Thunderdome augmentations
- Fixed Thunderdome math calculations
- Fixed critical hits on heavy hitters
- Fixed Prevention Wearout weapon mod
- Fixed several localization bugs
- Fixed spike dodge behavior
- Whisper Arena intro lighting now only plays once
- Prevented players from getting stuck on traps
- Fixed secondary explosions from Ki Explosion harming allies
- Trap decals now properly appear beneath traps
- Ammo on Demand perk no longer drops duplicate boxes
- Fixed an issue where the suicide bot loader could use gravity pull
- Fixed Mine Launcher spawning all mines in one place
- Fixed an issue that prevented the Long-Term Investment mutation from appearing at the beginning of the run.
