Update notes via Steam Community
Heya Dads!

It's been a minute since I last updated folks directly on Steam about BoJ news, but since I just uploaded a minor patch as part of the Games in New York Steam Event, I thought it might be a good time to check in.

First, I wanted to share that the game received a lil' bit of love and is now officially in version 1.1! There won't be huge changes, but the biggest bug had to do with how the Godot SteamAPI was being implemented. Even though folks were getting achievements, when the game quit, it would either erase those achievements or reset them. This should now be patched, but please let me know if you're still experiencing issues, and I'll revisit this!

Another small patch involved UI improvements for mouse/keyboard users in the pause menu, as well as a minor UI update to one of the minigames. In addition, one helpful user pointed out an error in the narrative parser that misgenders the partner. I've gone through the text and have made sure the correct variables are applied, but (again) if anyone finds any issues, please lmk!

There are other very minor patch details that I won't belabor at this time, but thanks to everyone who brought issues to my attention.

ONTO NEWS!

On June 21st, I'll be at Drexel University in Philly to present a narrative design talk as part of NarraScope, a conference dedicated to interactive fiction and playful storytelling. My talk, entitled Re-Learning Narrative Design Lessons from Children’s Books will feature some design lessons I learned from making this game.

The following weekend (June 27th-29th), I'll be bringing Bundle of Joy to Too Many Games une 27th-29th! Some of y'all might've already seen this news, since they're currently running their Steam Event now up through the conference. I'm so excited to attend another gaming conference this year, and I'm hoping to have a fun surprise for folks coming by my booth! I'll also have some baby stickers (pictured below) that you can snag, so make sure to come by and check me out in Booth 15 in Hall C at the convention!
