TLDR: UPDATE AND PLAY Tactical Assault VR

I'm super excited to finally release the new Incoming Storm Remastered mission and LIV Creator Kit!

Incoming Storm Remastered

The original Incoming Storm was the very first mission I designed almost 3 years ago! Whew! Time flies. Clearly, my Da'Vincian art skills were too much for the world to handle *sarcasm*. In collaboration with Patient 8 games, the map has been completely revamped with a ton of new design updates and upgrades. There's more verticality, more ladders, more enemies, more atmosphere and more...well, you get the point. Just play it!



LIV Creator Kit:

In addition to the remastered map, both PCVR AND Stand-Alone users can take advantage of the newly integrated LIV Creator Kit! With the new LIV Creator Kit, stand alone users now have the ability to capture external camera views, previously only available to PCVR users. LIV is a team made up of a bunch of wizards! Everything is handled internally so there's no need to use an external recording app.

Alternatively though, PCVR users still have an extra option to record or stream externally onto their monitor if they so choose (Render To Monitor in the LIV Creator Kit settings menu).

Capture your gameplay runs, review your performance or make your own films! There's plenty of variety and possibilities for you and your team.

Stricter Punishments for Team-Killing/Griefing:

Griefing/Team-Killing has been a major problem with the Tactical Assault VR community. It is quite unfortunate to see a game you've poured your heart and soul into turn into a troll-fest.

With that said, Auto-Kick Team-Killers is enabled in ALL public lobbies. With AKTK OFF, the amount of team-kills allowed is increased but not entirely removed. Private rooms are unaffected. To combat constant griefing, a multiplayer BAN system has been implemented for players who take joy in making others miserable. All team-kills are tallied. Breaking the rules can and will result in a 12-hour ban from multiplayer.

To reiterate, these changes affect PUBLIC lobbies.

Improved Bullet Penetration

Yes, it was bugged. There I fixed it.


PCVR EXCLUSIVE - Real-time Shadows:

Want better lighting/graphics? Well I got something for ya'!

Real-time shadows (PCVR ONLY)! Bring your Nvidia GT710 to its boiling point by enabling real-time shadows (just kidding, don't use a Nvidia GT710. In fact, just let it go already, geez).




Added Lore/Story to Mission Briefings:

Tactical Assault VR has always had a more open-ended, blank-slate sandbox approach so a story wasn't originally in my cards. But many of you still prefer that a game comes with a story, background, characters and lore. In collaboration with Canto (discord community member) TAVR now has that! See an overview of each mission in the Singleplayer mission briefing menu. Or let Jorin's (discord community member) deep ahh voice read it for you. The future of TAVR's story is currently being expanded on (along with some future content) and we can't wait to have that fully fleshed out for you all.

Tactical Assault VR v0.8.8

Additions:
• Incoming Storm REMASTER
• (PCVR) LCK now replaces the previous camera recording method on PCVR. By default, the cameras no longer render on your monitor (as a performance saving measure). You must enable the "Render To Monitor" option for desktop capture. Otherwise, all recording is handled internally through LIV Creator Kit. Saved PCVR recordings will be found in your "Installation Directory > Tactical Assault VR Recordings" directory.
• Added lore/story overview for each mission (written by Canto)
• Added Mission Brief Voice Overs in Singleplayer mission select (Voice overs by Jorin)
• Added TOC Voice Overs for exfil (Voice overs by Jorin)

Griefing/Team Killing:
• Changed: To combat griefing-only lobbies, public rooms are automatically closed if the host has 4+ team kills regardless of the AKTK setting. Private rooms are unaffected by this change
• Changed: To combat griefing-only lobbies, public lobbies are limited to 4 TKs regardless of AKTK. Private rooms are unaffected by this change
• Added 3 strike system to combat griefing. Getting auto-kicked for griefing (constant Team-Killing) gets you a strike. 3 strikes results in a ban from Multiplayer for 12 hours. You will NOT receive a strike if you are vote-kicked or host-kicked from a room. Only if auto-kicked through griefing/team-killing. Strikes do not reset and are accumulated until you are banned.
• Changed: To combat bunny-hopping between public lobbies to grief before being auto-kicked, ALL team-kills are tallied. Reaching the maximum amount of team-kills results in a 12-hour ban.

Changes/Updates:
• Improved Bullet Penetration
• Weapons are automatically charged if the AutoSling option is ON. Excludes shotguns and LMGs
• Updated Hidden Forest
• Updated Enemy logic with performance optimizations
• Shooting a contemplating enemy will force them to attack
• Updated Shootout Sand respawn points away from middle of the map
• Reduced AKTK limit. 2 TKs until kicked.

Fixes:
• Fixed: Beanbag shotgun damaging player. Beanbag shotguns no longer damage players but still cause screen blackout
• Fixed: PvP private rooms no longer count Team Kills with AKTK off

PCVR Exclusives:
• Added Realtime Shadows option in Graphics settings
