Hello Ghouls and Investigators!

I have big news, as you might’ve seen from the title, Prop Haunt’s demo just got its biggest update yet, and it’s all thanks to YOU! These changes come directly from the second playtest, from all the feedback we received from it.

Prop Haunt will also be participating in the June Next Fest, now with a demo that’s bigger and better than ever, all thanks to your input!

Patch Notes


📑Major Additions

  • Implemented multiple localizations
  • Scan ability for Investigator implemented
    • 1.5 minute cooldown
    • Ghosts have to hide or be zapped when they become visible.
    • The investigator is prevented from changing cameras after Scan is activated.
    • Ghosts can’t use their abilities during the scan.
  • Added Notifications and a countdown for the scanner
  • Added new tutorial messages to drive players through their first match
  • Lobby global voice chat
  • Team-based voice chat in-game

🖥️Gameplay & UI Changes

  • Updated “Charge Room” to “Ritual”
  • The pause menu now appears over the rest of UI in game
  • Pressing escape now closes the teleport menu
  • Ultimate orb now indicates if it can be used or not and is shared between Ghosts.
  • Updated all abilities UI components to reflect whether they can be used or not based on cooldowns/ability power
  • Teleport menu: grayed out destroyed rooms so players can’t teleport to them
  • Added player list for lobby

👻Ghost Changes

  • Ghosts now get influence for haunting props in the Investigator’s warehouse
  • Ghosts are now visible when charging the orbs
  • Reduced rate at which ghosts grow in size and realness

⚖️Balance Changes

  • Reduced rate of AP gain for the Investigator
  • Reduced camera turn rate
  • Reduced rate of miasma growth on haunted props
  • Reduced the initial cost of Investigator’s ultimate from 5AP to 1AP

💀Misc.

  • Added sound effects for when the room is destroyed
  • Feedback when zapping a ghost has been added
  • Added music to the main menu, lobby, and house.

🐛Bug Fixes

  • Fixed bug where opening the pause menu before the match started would break controls for ghosts
  • Haunting the window lamp in the kitchen is fixed.
  • Haunting the Reading light in the living room is fixed
  • Haunting the Spray bottle in the bathroom is fixed
  • Fixed bug where ghosts haunt ability wouldn’t be blocked when teleporting into the room where the Investigator is
  • Fixed issue where the second time the mouse was haunted in the investigator warehouse, it didn't clear the effects
  • Fixed issues with cooldowns not applying to haunts in the Investigator warehouse
  • Fixed issue with being able to hold down Q/E and spam the failed ability noise
  • Fixed lobby performance issues
  • Fixed issue with AP continuing to drain after leaving the Investigator warehouse
  • Fixed the world UI pin showing on the customization screen
  • Mouse/box sounds in Investigator Warehouse audible for everyone fixed
  • Some props were not accruing Miasma correctly.
  • All props that were affected by this are now fixed
  • Kicking a player in the lobby now correctly opens the spot for another player to join
  • Preventing input before loaded into the match should fix some control issues
  • Hearing other ghosts getting zapped is fixed
  • Mouse now appears at end game correctly
  • Ghost zapped audio spam is fixed
