Update notes via Steam Community
Hey, everyone!

A bit out of the blue, I'm thrilled to announce that the demo for EMPTY SHELL 2 is now available on Steam!
Which also means that the second chapter of EMPTY SHELL is well into development!

The game is a direct sequel to the first chapter, and it comes with some major new features. Let me briefly tell you about the two most noticeable ones:

  • As you can see from the trailer and screenshots, the K-Link satellite system used to monitor volunteers has received a major upgrade and can now transmit color images.
Not exactly the most colorful broadcast ever seen, I’ll admit. :)
But for those of you who are fond of black and white, there’s an option to use the original K-Link view as well.

  • The second major change is the gameplay loop: while progression in the first EMPTY SHELL was more traditional and linear, level after level, in EMPTY SHELL 2, volunteers will be housed together in a building on the island, which they can return to even in the middle of a mission or with partially completed objectives (provided they find an extraction zone… and make it there alive).
They’ll bring back gear and resources to stash in the shelter, to be used later either by themselves or by future volunteers who will replace them in case of… unfortunate outcomes.

Speaking of objectives, there will now also be optional secondary objectives that can be completed at your discretion to top up the base pay promised at contract signing.

Alright, volunteers, I’ll leave the rest for you to discover: try the demo and let me know what you think!
As always, I’ll be here reading all your feedback and working hard in the coming weeks and beyond to fix everything I’m sure you’ll find that’s not working properly, unbalanced, or just off in any way.

One last VERY IMPORTANT thing: if you enjoy the demo of EMPTY SHELL 2, please remember to add the game to your wishlist and leave a review for the demo.
That’s the only way the game can gain enough visibility to keep development going.

That said, load a couple shells into that old hunting shotgun and sharpen your trusty hatchet:
It’s time to go back into the Facility.
