🧭 Storymode vs Freedom Mode

You now have two ways to play:

Storymode (guided)
  • A guided experience powered by the new Story Director, Beat System, and Knowledge Graph. This mode helps shape your journey with structure and memory, giving your adventure a sense of pacing and continuity.
  • Builds structure, memory, and momentum.
  • Gentle nudges to keep you on track when you deviate too far from the main story path.

    Freedom Mode (unguided)
  • For those who prefer a blank slate, Freedom Mode offers completely open-ended storytelling with no narrative guidance. No beats. No outlines. No interference. Just you and your imagination.

Choose your mode from the Overview panel before you begin.

🎬 Story Director, Beats & Knowledge Graph

In Storymode, three systems work together to elevate your narrative:

    Knowledge Graph
  • Tracks characters, places, objects, and relationships as you play.
  • Helps stories remember what matters and bring it back naturally.

    Beat System
  • Divides stories into emotional milestones like setup, conflict, climax, and resolution.
  • Keeps stories moving and gives them rhythm — without locking you in.

    Story Director
  • Reads your story in real time.
  • Helps guide pacing, callbacks, and meaningful developments.
  • Responds to your choices rather than forcing its own.

🖼️ Image Model Choice: Flux Support

Choose the image model that best fits your hardware and storytelling needs:

  • SD 1.5 – Optimized for older systems and lower-end GPUs. Faster render times with a smaller memory footprint, so everyone can get images—even on limited hardware.
  • Flux – Uses larger models for richer, more cohesive art. While generation takes a bit longer, Flux delivers superior instruction following, reliably capturing most details from your page in a single, dramatic scene.

Note: The style dropdown is temporarily removed while we work on supporting LoRA models compatible with both SD 1.5 and Flux.

    ⚙️ UI & Polish

  • Outline is hidden by default (to avoid spoilers) — toggle visibility if you'd like via the checkbox.
  • Fixed a bug where the recap or story overview background would remain onscreen in certain cases.
  • Font fix for better compatibility of the text based progress bars.
  • Revamped the spinner system we previously had and relocated it to the status panel.
  • Smarter layout updates based on mode.

    🔔 Toast Notifications

We’ve added a lightweight system for toast-style messages to confirm actions and display messages. It’s minimal now, but sets the stage for future feedback inside the interface that we plan on building upon.

    🛠️ Other Fixes

  • CUDA support re-enabled.
  • Smoother image re-generation logic and spinner cleanup.
  • [*] Updated prompt logic so that any consequences of your input in the text field usually appear immediately in the very first paragraph of the next page. Previously, your actions might get pushed into the 2nd or 3rd paragraph, which could make input feel delayed or not properly acted upon.
