It’s finally here. The Hatchery update brings a fun new way to collect and upgrade monsters to Rogue Monster Rush. This update also brings with it a bunch of new player abilities, game optimizations, QoL improvements, and more! Let’s dive in:
The Hatchery and Egg Levels
Spend 3 stars to purchase an egg from the Hatchery. Eggs have a progress bar that is filled passively with XP gained during your runs. Once that XP bar has been filled, your egg is ready to be hatched. Head back to the hatchery to hatch it and see what’s inside!
If you hatch a monster you do not currently have in your collection, you will unlock that monster! However, if you hatch a monster that’s currently in your collection, that monster will gain an Egg level, giving you a selection of 3 potential stat upgrades to choose from. Your chosen upgrade will be permanently added to that monster. You can see your monster’s egg level and affected stats highlighted in purple in your monster menus.
A base upgrade has also been added called Heat Lamps, to reduce the XP needed to hatch eggs.

New Player Abilities + Ability Loadout
Minigun
Click on an open tile to drop into the action in your own minigun. Give your monsters a hard-earned break and unleash a barrage of damage to the enemy robots. (April fools joke gone way too far haha)

Blizzard
Cast an onslaught of icy projectiles from above! Each icicle has a chance to freeze enemies in their tracks.

Overgrowth
Put your green thumb to work - summon a thicket of bramble to slow and damage enemies who dare try to pass through it.
Loadout
In your party loadout screen, click on a player ability slot to change it by cycling through your other available ones. Play with different combinations to see which you like best!

Advanced Targeting
For all the advanced players looking for a way to really take control of their monsters, we’ve added advanced targeting to the arsenal. Purchase it from the base upgrades and click on your monsters to change their targeting priority.

Progress = Closest to your base, Proximity = Closest to the monster, Strongest = Highest total HP, Nearest Death = Most missing HP%, Fastest = Highest speed, Slowest = Slowest speed
Various Others
Framerate Lock
Options Menu: Lock FPS to 30/60/Unlimited, really useful for those playing on SteamDeck/Laptops to reduce battery usage.
V-Sync
Eliminate screen tearing, robots LOVE screen tearing.
Delete Save File
With each update, decide whether or not you’d like a fresh experience, click the floppy disk icon in the bottom left corner of the menu screen.
Damage Overhaul
Damage has been overhauled to have point values, for more accurate damage being done, rather than rounding, everything will be scaling much more accurately.
Performance Optimizations
Various fixes and changes to ensure performance stays solid when there’s a lot of mayhem on screen.
