General
- 500MB reduction in size of the game.
- The text 'Dorinela' has been added to the beginning of some voice lines.
- All sliders in the menus are now faster with Controller.
- Updated News on the main menu.
- Portcullis gates now fall more quickly.
- Intro logo now 4k.
- The underlying engine for Confronted has been upgraded from UE5.4 to UE5.5. This may have some minimal performance improvements.
Bug fixes
- Brightness adjustments in the menu now carry over properly when playing.
- Chapter 2 & 3 as 'coming soon' now show after finishing Chapter 1.
- Fixed rare chance of enemies not continuing their chase when seeing the player.
- Fixed rare chance of enemy getting stuck looking at a hideout.
- Fixed case of game freezing if near a hideout during a hunt in the crypts.
- Fixed rare chance of getting a duplicate enemy spawn.
Audio
- Overall sound mix increased in volume by about 20%.
- Adjusted some SFX volumes (mostly lowered) for a better overall mix.
- Updated death SFX.
- Disabled WMFMedia plugin. Electra is used instead for media playback.
Performance
- Performance mode is now available in the Graphics settings. This enables FSR for 30%+ fps boosts.
- Disabled high quality translucent reflections; not worth the performance cost at the moment, minimal affect on visual fidelity.
- Lumen uses global instead of detailed lighting. No noticeable difference in visual fidelity.
- Global illumination and reflections use High scalability instead of Epic, with no noticeable difference but better performance.
- Some environments have been converted to instanced static meshes.
- Optimised shadows on some lights, translucent effects and materials on meshes.
Steam Deck
- Now playable on the Steam Deck at a smooth 30fps.
- Currently cutscenes are played as an image instead of a movie, as I am unable to get videos working on the Deck. Hopefully this can be rectified in the future.
- Performance mode is automatically enabled for the Deck but can be switched off still in the menu graphic settings.
