Welcome to the Achieve Your Dreams Update, the first content update for New Meat, based on YOUR feedback (among other things). There's quite a lot here, so let's dive in!

DIFFICULTY MODS!

The centerpiece of this update is the all-new Difficulty Mod system! Under the restaurant, you'll find seven switches that will make the dungeon more difficult in a number of intriguing ways! Think of these a bit like the "Covenants" from Monster Train, but you get to pick your poison. Or you can turn them all on for a truly absurd challenge!

Difficulty Mods are accessed via a cheat code entered into the bathroom door panel. In normal play, you can learn this code by getting the Model Employee ending. But if you really want to get in there right away...use the code 99999. Just remember, the code must be entered RIGHT AT THE START of the game, before you kill the first Meathead.

Right now, the rewards for using Difficulty Mods are fairly minimal, but future updates will put more and more content behind higher and higher difficulties, so you should probably start getting used to them.

NEW CURIOS!

Twelve new Curios have been added to the game, and this collection is rather special. Each one is a sneaky reference to another indie roguelite. Some references run deeper than others, so be sure to grab them all and see if you can puzzle out what each one is referring to!

And if you want a hint, you might be able to find one somewhere on social media.

A NEW ENDING?!

This update adds one new ending to the game, but I’ll leave you to find it on your own. The only pointers I’ll give you are.

1. It has nothing to do with the Difficulty Mods.
2. It has nothing to do with the new Curios.
3. It’s an ending that probably should have been in the base game. And, in fact, some of you might have already attempted the thing that triggers it, hoping to get an alternate ending.

And the rest you’ll need to figure out yourselves. Just be warned, this ending isn’t a happy one.

AND MORE...?

In additional to all that, this update includes some balance and bugfix changes, including a rather important one that fixes how Curses work. Details below:

-Fixed a bug that caused the Hypergeographic Calculator to not calculate properly when dealing with crystals.

-Fixed a bug that caused the Hypergeographic Calculator to not calculate at all when dealing with Prize Rocks.

-Fixed a bug that would cause Trash Piles to turn invisible but not despawn if you hit the Powerball jackpot.

-Fixed a bug that caused Niko's luck to inversely impact Trash Pile drop rates from how it's supposed to.

-Fixed several related bugs that made Activated Curios behave incorrectly outside the dungeon.

-Being Cursed now has a new animation. I’m not gonna say it’s better, but it’s less obtrusive.

-Fixed a serious bug that caused Curses to wear off if you lost a Heart in battle.

-Added a new note from Natalie that should help clue people in to the game's core loop

-Stat buffs and debuffs can now only stack up to 2x. You probably didn't even know stat buffs/debuffs went up to 4x before, but now they don't.

And that's...almost everything, but the rest you can find yourselves. Thanks to everyone who's supported this game and sent in their feedback. There's more to come, so stay tuned!
