In this v101 update, we’ve made a variety of improvements to strengthen the overall flow and strategic depth of the Exploration Phase.
By reworking the role of the Signal Relay and introducing new tools like the Cable Reel and Item Cart, we’ve significantly enhanced the convenience and immersion of exploration.
In addition, we've rebalanced creature spawn behavior and item placement, creating a new gameplay rhythm where you can never let your guard down.
We’ve also made improvements to the main monitor UI and fixed several key issues.
The patch was successfully completed on March 28 (KST 17:00).

Exploration Phase Improvements
[Signal Relay Role Update]
- Removed the minimap feature.
- When the Signal Relay is working, clicking it now reveals all item locations on the map.
- Reduced the cost of Signal Relay support items by 50%.
[New Item: Cable Reel]
- A Cable Reel is now provided in front of the elevator upon entering a stage.
- The Cable Reel can be used unlimitedly within stages but cannot be brought back to the Hub.
- Carrying the Cable Reel leaves a cable trail on the floor to mark your path.
[New Item: Item Cart]
- An Item Cart that can hold multiple items is now provided in front of the elevator.
- Items placed in the cart have reduced weight, allowing for easier transport.
- The cart can hold up to 15 items.
[Item and Creature Spawn Balancing]
- Items now spawn in concentrated clusters rather than one by one.
- Creatures now appear closer to players as time progresses.
- Locked rooms now contain multiple Clover items, offering greater rewards.
[Main Monitor UI Rework]
- The main monitor UI has been fully reworked to be more intuitive and clean.

Other Improvements & Fixes
- Story progress and stage unlock info are now saved even after game over.
- Fixed an issue where creatures could not enter the elevator in the 'Hotel Lobby' and 'Hotel' maps.
- Added an option to choose whether to include Story Mode when starting a session.
- Fixed a bug where the No-Clip first-person effect was not visible to some clients.
- Fixed an issue where the elevator moved while doors were still open at stage end.
- Fixed an issue where repair tools or keys spawned inside locked rooms.

We will continue to improve Backroom Company based on player feedback to provide a better experience.
