Hello arcaders! it's update time! This update introduces the new Goose Lodge indoor location, 3 new gaming machines, Quick Ripps and a complete bingo system. I will be rolling out this new Goose Lodge indoor location in 2 phases (like I have done with all new locations). This gives me a chance to try some things on a smaller scale and adjust after I get more player feedback.

The largest part of this new update is the Bingo game system inside of the Goose Lodge. I really tried to capture the small town community Bingo hall in all of its "glory". Many people drive by Bingo halls on a daily basis and will never step foot into one of them. So now The Coin Game offers a way to fill your digital lungs with all that small town Bingo goodness. So get in there and grab an uncomfortable chair at a wobbly folding table and get to work!

After you insert your players card in the machine/table (next to purple mohawk Rhonda in the middle of the room) you can choose from 1-3 Bingo Cards. They are $2.50 per card/per game. As the Bingo caller calls out the randomly drawn numbers you must mark them on your bingo cards with a blue "dab" (or dot). If you match 5 in a row before all of the other bots, you win the whole pot. You can see the value of the game you are playing on the Goose Lodge wall monitor (see below images).

The center spot of all cards is a free spot and will start each game as already "dabbed". You must have the called numbers "dabbed" (clicked showing a blue dot) on your bingo card for the "bingo" win to count. If the bingo is good and called before the other bots, the payout staff will come to your table and pay you out in cash.

Throughout phase 1 there will be some dust and boxes laying around the Goose Lodge as Gary is still setting up his new business. No, not the adorable but annoying Swan-Goose Gary... the other Gary. What's that? You don't know Gary? Oh forgive me. Gary is the bot who's "head" glitters like a Bass boat and the one who still wears his bowling shirt and shoes from the 90's. He is the owner of the Goose Lodge and you will most likely find him in his "mini-casino" area just off the bingo gaming floor. A few years ago Gary bought a bunch of old slot machines from a swap meet and has been retro-fitting them to be able to played with your players club card. He will be testing and adjusting the machines all day and night until he gets it right. The guy is a psycho about numbers and providing a fun and fair experience to all his patrons. So give him a break if they need some adjustment later down the line. ;) He said they are just for charity and that he donates all the money to Rusting/Aging Bots in the community. The slots will pay out in cash right on you players card.

Over the past few months I have been building these new slot machines along side of updating the project to Unity 2022 game engine (more info on that later). They have really been a blast to make. I love the mechanics of slot machines and had ideas of adding them years ago but never got around to it as there is still so many arcade machines to add. I could not put them off anymore though as MANY players have been asking for them since day one. Thank you for being patient and I am glad to finally put in serious time and make them as good as I can for you. Let me know what you think of them. As someone who loves all things analog and tactile... I had to do old fashioned "reels" type slot machines. I love the clunk and noises of the turning wheels. It really can be a fun rush to hit a free spin bonus.
The first slot machine is called Wild Goose Chase. It is a "Wild card" style slot. It is a single payline machine. You can wager 1-3 credits by using the left joystick (or A and D Key on keyboard) to increase or decrease the bet. Press the interact button to spin the reels and let the magic happen. All possible payouts are listed on the top panel of both machines.

The second slot machine is called Islandville Jackpots. It is a Free Spin bonus style slot machine. It is also a single payline machine. You can wager 1 or 2 credits. The object is to get as many Jackpot Logos as possible on the single payline. Payouts are on the top of both machines. If you hit all three of the bonus logos the machine will enter a bonus mode. After you match 3 bonus values of free spins the machine will enter auto mode and spin until all of your free spins are gone. Depending on the value that you matched you could 1x, 2x or even 3x your whole spin bonus! Remember. Gary said that these are just for fun and charity to fix the pot holes around Islandville and stuff. Also, there are no leaderboards or tickets dispensed from the slot machines.

The third machine in the Goose Lodge that I have added is a Quick Ripps lotto dispenser. It sells small lotto cards that are inspired by the Pull Tabs you can find in many Bingo halls around the US. I thought they were a great addition to the "small town casino" style theme that I have built into the Goose Lodge. You basically pick the value of the Ripper that you want and buy them. Rip the covers off the values and hopefully reveal a winner. They are pretty simple but a ton of fun to rip.

If you get hungry in the Goose Lodge there is always popcorn and snacks available 24/7. The Lodge never closes, so feel free to drop in and try your luck anytime of the day or night!

That about does it for this content update. Thank you VERY MUCH for supporting The Coin Game. It has been almost 6 years since launching this goofy idea and I am forever grateful that I get the privilege to work on this title for you.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Goose Lodge update is new content and new machines only. It does NOT contain any of the optimizations that I am working on for the new Unity "2022" version of The Coin Game that is coming later this summer. Those optimizations will come in one of the next updates of 2025. Long story short... the hiccup/stutter/glitch is still there and we must work around it for just a LITTLE longer. Trust me though... I have played the updated version and its all gone. Smooth as butter. I cant wait to get it to all of you sometime this summer. There is just so much to do still. Its not something that just gets done in a month or two. We are going on 6 months and still have a couple more to go. THANK YOU For your patience and understanding.
If you love The Coin Game and want to see more... you can help me out by leaving the game a good review on the Steam Store page. It makes a huge difference for a single indie dev like myself.
Thank you.
