Early Access Patch #2 (v0.1.3) adds an in-game brightness setting, a check to enable missed steam achievements on file select, a help step to obtain the Voidstone, and fixes a rare potential for a softlock in the randomizer. It also includes a handful of minor fixes.

Primary Changes:
  • A Brightness setting has been added to the options menu. The setting defaults to 75%, so you'll likely notice a decrease in brightness upon updating to EA v0.1.3.
  • Steam Achievements will now be checked at file select. If you've acquired an achievement in game, but the Steam Achievement failed to update (due to connection issue or otherwise), this will activate any missing achievements at file select.
  • Obtaining the Voidstone has been added to the help/guidance system.
    • The Voidstone is an optional hidden item in Chapter 1, found by talking to a certain NPC that gives a hint to its nearby location. It's not required to beat the game, but makes a certain aspect of your quest a little easier.
    • However, not knowing about the Voidstone can cause issues for players in the randomizer. If a player never learned about the Voidstone's location in Chapter 1, they might struggle to progress in the event that location holds a necessary Key Item.
    • This change helps ensure players using the help/guidance system in Chapter 1 are aware of its location.

  • Fixed a rare potential softlock in the Randomizer. In rare instances, the Uncles will hold Key Items that are used to access new locations. Before this fix, if the player chose the other item, there was a small edge case that resulted in preventing access to Dreskofel Castle. This has been fixed. The Uncles will still offer these Key Items on rare occassions, but players will always be able to choose whichever item they want without having to worry about a softlock.
    • Any randomized runs started after EA v0.1.3 (version displayed at the start screen) will no longer experience this issue.
    • Any randomized runs started in EA v.0.1.2 or before could have this issue, but it's very, very unlikely.
    • This update to the randomizer will not affect your current run, and most players should be able to continue and complete their current run with no issues.



Various additions/fixes:
  • Using the Voidstone from the Item Menu out of combat now gives a description of what it does.
  • The "Regeneration" ability now triggers immediately after your turn. This also means it now properly triggers on the last turn of combat (after dealing the final blow to an enemy).
    • Note: It doesn't work on enemy ambush, as the enemy has taken a turn, but you haven't.
    • The Regeneration description text has been updated from 'every turn' to 'your turn' to match.

  • Fixed a visual clipping issue with the final boss
  • Defeating the final boss disables random encounters from the final boss room
  • if magic bolt is resisted, it no longer plays the spell animation. (Consistent with Magic Blast now)
