cool kid cody's done, but the updates aren't. here's a list of stuff that's been updated, and a heads up about some of the episodes going free tomorrow, read below!

version 3.29
  • code has been updated in preparation for episodes s1e2, s1e3, s2e2, and s2e3 becoming free tomorrow (june 14, thanks for your patience while we figure that out)! from now on, those who get those episodes for free will not get the badge, (it'll remain exclusive to those who paid to play those episodes earlier on). thank you again for all your support! as a heads up, your badges are tied to the persistent file located in the local files (Steam > steamapps > common > Cool Kid Cody > game > saves). if you plan on reinstalling the game/wiping your computer and are concerned about losing your badge, back up that persistent file! if you believe you should have the badge but don't, or want to report any bug really, email us at 90percentstudios@gmail.com or bug us on social media. (i'm going to be out of town this weekend but i'll get back to you asap!! - denny)
  • fixed the finale so mini pastes the new photos into the yearbook whether you've only found 1 photo or all 3 (she used to only do it if it were all 3).
  • made it so even if you only get the third unlockable photo in the finale, it'll still turn to dusk on the beach.
  • added alternate episode icons that show whether you’ve unlocked the chillectrical move for that episode.
  • edited color of peter’s eyes in his sword sprite, the gray shade was too dark before.
  • edited tight heights so crescent high in the distance had its new design in the finale
  • moved some character positioning during the finale during pie’s scene so he wouldn’t be blocked by the textbox as much.
  • reformatted episode titles in the episode selection screen
  • made textboxes slightly transparent to show more bg/character art behind it. as a result we reorganized textbox files so that text tails are no longer separate .pngs from the textbox itself. makes it easier to edit n all that!
  • increased space around the title of each menu to prep for larger text sizes for the mobile version.
  • reformatted credits slightly.


version 3.30
  • added white outline to olive/coffee shop barista's head in s3e10.
  • made andy and me average in the after-credits scene.
  • gave daniel his friendship bracelet in his bg sprite.
  • gave cody his friendship bracelet and earring in his average fallen down sprite.
  • fixed shading on peter’s phone on the main menu.
  • fixed mix-up between shoe grind and nollie star ratings in s3e4.
  • gave loser-bruce a curl on his head, he had one in his background sprite but not on his close-up one
  • gave cody’s handspring sprite a slight purple edge along the board.
  • cody’s dash sprite had hexagonal wheels when they should’ve been pentagons. fixed it so it was more in style with the other sprites.


version 3.32
  • fixed a few typos and line breaking issues in s3e5 + e6
  • fixed scene in s3e6 in g-ma’s garage, she faces right during cody’s conversation when she should be facing left.
  • fixed issue where finale credits scene broke the game.
  • fixed cody’s textbox not appearing in s3e5 when he’s a kid.


version 3.37
  • added game version number to info screen
  • fixed kay’s eyes appearing gray in episode 23
  • fixed game crashing at end of s2e10
  • fixed peter showing up twice in the classroom background of s1e10


version 3.37
  • fixed sky in front of school in s2e4, hovering over the button showed chill haven in the wrong position.
  • fixed some line breaking issues/the pacing of some lines/combined some lines here and there.
  • fixed s2e5 unlockable photo #2, peggy’s contacts were the wrong shade of blue.
  • tweaked s2e7 unlockable photo #2 slightly.
  • improved readability of icons on main menu screen.



version 3.40
  • fixed bug where, in s3e9 you could click on the background to initiate the boat scene during the second part of cody's fight with rhyme.
  • made it so, in the episode selection menu, clicking on unowned episodes causes steam's overlay to open up to the episode's dlc.
  • added buttons to buy the season bundles if you don't already own it. if you own all seasons, this button won't appear.
  • fixed bug where some peoples' badges weren't showing up. it shouldn't be tied to your persistent file anymore, but tied to information stored in steam itself, so even if you uninstall+reinstall the game, the badge shouldn't disappear!


version 3.41
  • fixed desktop stickers disappearing too soon on the left side of the screen. now the stickers should float off the screen before popping out of existence.
  • made mini’s mouth red instead of pink in s3e6’s chillectrical move.
  • made cody’s mouth pink instead of red in his conversation with holy resources.
  • made it so cody’s outfit looks all floaty when he’s talking to pb in s3e7.


version 3.81
  • the big jump in version number is from having made 40 other versions to try and get this build to also work on google play. it works on both now!
  • made the error pop up window on the disc selection menu smaller so you can see cody’s silly face on the wallpaper even when the menu's open.
  • s1e3: fixed a bug where the narrator is speaking when cody should be speaking.
  • s3e10: cody says “i don’t think there’s anyone left around the beach that we can bug for signatures”, which isn’t technically true if you hadn’t gotten alarmy’s signature yet, in which case cody’s backpack will now rustle, reminding him to get their signature.
  • s3e10: added borders to the blank photos on the last page of the yearbook so they appeared more clickable.
  • s3e10: made it so the seating on the beach isn’t visible until cody enters the beach.
  • s3e10: made it so gg always has her bracelet. she used to only have her bracelet if you’d done the bracelet mini-quest in s3e7 (restarting also s3e7 reset her bracelet).
  • updated game icon so it's cuter.
  • made a bunch of other small fixes like typos and a few assets missing the 3d effect/white outlines.
  • reorganized some files in the etc folder, should have no effect on gameplay.


version 3.86
  • update for the hellaween special :)


version 3.87
  • fixed a bug where peggy's grad outfit was missing her hat and didn't work on certain poses.


version 3.93
  • fixed rhyme’s average design (her shirt stripes were white instead of light gray).
  • added a white outline to rhyme’s phone menu in the special.
  • fixed a bug where achievements weren't registering. you may have to go back and redo the scenes wherever the achievement should've been granted, sorry about the inconvenience!!
  • because of a new renpy update i had to change some code. this shouldn't affect gameplay but i know some people like to go through the code/mod things so i thought i'd note it. all instances of "im.MatrixColor" and other image manipulators listed here aren't compatible anymore and have been replaced with an equivalent matrixcolor transform property, and in a few cases, other transform properties. this affects almost any code dealing with images in the game, and means code that looked like this:

    im.MatrixColor ("images/bg_other/outshore/february/birds%s" %(image_extension), im.matrix.brightness(0.10))

    now looks like this!

    Transform ("images/bg_other/outshore/february/birds%s" %(image_extension), matrixcolor=BrightnessMatrix(value=0.10))


version 3.95
  • added id tags to each line of dialogue (doesn't affect gameplay, it's just in case we create translations and need to identify dialogue more specifically).
  • made gigi's friends have their regular names in s3e10.


version 3.97
  • edited some episode icons for better visibility (namely s3e6 now has two lightning bolts, indicating there are two unlockable chillectrical moves for that episode!)
  • fixed a visual bug on cody's meter in s3e6.
  • fixed a bug where in s3e6 if you interact with cody’s room entrance on both cody and mini's turn in the same round, g-ma will leave.
  • the last update apparently made peoples' persistent data inaccessible, this update should fix that (i think? it does for me at least :')
  • the song in sun's out fun's out was bugged and the piano wasn't playing. updated with a fix but didn't change the version number since this was just a file swap issue.
  • fixed the censor beep in s3e1, it would just keep looping foreeeeever.
