Greetings from Rokugan!


We just released another update to Shadowveil: Legend of the Five Rings!
As the result of many players sharing reports of bugs, we've identified and fixed yet another bunch of issues. Special thanks to the players in the Shadowveil Discord and the players on the Shadowveil Steam Forum for continuing to help report and track down issues. The Crab Clan salutes you!

Known issues

  • We are still verifying missions that fail to reward the player properly or cannot be redeemed
  • Certain missions may lead to a softlock, reloading the save should fix the majority of these instances
  • Resolutions with 16:10 or other less common aspect ratios may have issues with the UI
  • Achievements for some don't trigger correctly, we are still investigating why
  • Some boss battles can crash randomly, additional fixes are slated for next patch

  • Combat speed will be saved
  • Backup save system accessible in game

Updates

  • Item components that are equipped can now be upgrade like other items
  • When combining items, if there is only one viable component to choose, it will be automatically selected
  • Ch8 Possessed Goblin shouldn't die from enemies breathing on him.
  • Ch8 first node should correctly show deck reward
  • Updated look on building hover
  • Updated color on tile outlines to reflect deployment, deployables and orders better
  • Updated event enemies in ch4 event The Phoenix Clan, to hide old names
  • Extra duty slot in camp can now be unlocked properly in gate


Critical Fixes (Crashes/Softlock)

  • Potential "softlock" fix when exiting mission
  • Fixed issue with Lost Library Guardian extra combat in chapter 9 not completing correctly sometimes
  • Fixed a crash where player would use deploy button repeatedly
  • Fixed issue where exiting the Shadowveil led to no visible paths (Thanks to the community who helped us nail this down!)
  • Fixed a crash on a story map during Ch6 Satchel combat
  • Fixed softlock where player was unable to move units between phases during an Lost Library Guardian combat under certain conditions
  • Fixed potential softlock with mission “The Blessed Seeds”
  • Fixed potential crash with mission “Waters of Fury”


Fixes

  • Fixed overly bright combat levels
  • Fixed: Pause menu can no longer be re-opened while already open
  • Fixed blackscreen where combat levels would load without lighting
  • Fixed issue with boss banner hiding itself when it shouldn't
  • Fixed issue when recruiting a ronin from previous run didn’t give you the same ronin
  • Fixed issue where combined items sometimes wouldn’t be added to the inventory
  • Fixed issue with Lion Clan rewards that gave a lot of max health but no current health, when they should've just given a bit of both
  • Fixed so that Engineer traps no longer rewrites reality on the tile they are placed on when the engineer dies
  • Fixed issue for ability “Searing judgement” with Legendary rarity
  • Fixed issue with missions not showing correct steps
  • Fixed multiple issues with Ch8 spirit collection nodes
  • Fixed issue with card highlight
  • Fixed issue where second stage of mission “The Last Disciple “failed to be completed
  • Fixed issue where Quartermaster trait gave cards which was not unlocked
  • Fixed ch4 Sukune bark where the wrong speaker was assigned
  • Fixed ch4 event not presenting the correct enemies
  • Fixed issue with the mission “Family Katana” not completing correctly
  • Fixed issue with the mission “Water of Fury” objectives
  • Fixed issues with the event “Gamble in the Mist”
  • Fixed issue with signature mastery of the sibling could be selected by other sibling
  • Fixed issue where “Healthy Step” Mastery healed unit when dragging it around the battlefield
  • Fixed issue where legendary base attacks looked upgradable
  • Fixed whisper dialogue in ch5 to only repeat when it should
  • Fixed abilities Single out the Weak and item Unerring Crimson Spear that could lead to errors
  • Fixed issue with lingering tooltip in card reward
  • Fixed issue where Witch Hunters and Exorcist where inexplicably scared of shrines
  • Quest pop-ups should now be skipped if they contain no text
  • Potential fix for when abilities take longer then rest of combat
  • Removed Otter Clan debug text
  • Various fixes to “cinematics” to improve experience
  • Various UI tweaks and improvements
  • Fixed several places where the French translation did not use functions properly
  • Various environmental fixes
  • Updated some camera angles in cutscenes
  • Audio mixes and tweaks
  • Updated some localization
