Seekers of Skyveil is going into EARLY ACCESS! ⭐

tl;dr - We’re OFFICIALLY LAUNCHING INTO EARLY ACCESS! šŸŽ‰ You’ll be able to download the full version of our game around 10:30 to 11AM, with login and servers opening at 12PM PST. Seekers of Skyveil will be transitioning to our free-to-play model, where we’ll be introducing Seeker unlocks, premium cosmetics and DLC bundles, and our first Asia server for Early Access.

Hey Seekers!

What an exciting and long week of Next Fest. The journey of Seekers is just beginning.

Showcasing our live demo to so many new faces and familiar friends has been nothing short of HYPE. šŸ”„ Next Fest has been the biggest event in our game’s history, and we had so much fun every second–from revealing our newest Seeker on Monday to running into y’all in-game and even hanging out in our Discord. We feel your excitement for more as we’ve been listening to conversations on how we can make the Seekers experience smoother and better.

This is just the beginning, with a road full of updates, iterations, and new content ahead of us. As Next Fest comes to an end, we’re stepping into the next phase of our game–Early Access! šŸŽŠ

Before jumping into the details, let’s take a look at some fun numbers from Next Fest:
  • You played 30,000 hours of Seekers of Skyveil! That’s 1,250 days, which is around 3.5 years šŸ“…
  • 11,600+ matches were played. That’s about 11 times the number of licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop. šŸ

Server Times

  • Servers will shut down on Monday, March 3rd at 10:00 AM PST
  • Demo will be disabled, but you’ll be able to download the main Seekers of Skyveil game during maintenance
  • Official game servers expected to resume at 12:00 PM PST

What’s coming during Early Access?

Seeker Rotation and Unlocks šŸ•¹ļø

We’re introducing Seeker unlocks and rotation sets for Early Access, a new system that cycles a fresh set of Seekers in and out of play.

Upon launch, you’ll begin with a select group of Seekers to choose from right away. You can permanently unlock a Seeker in the roster through Auranite Essence (in-game currency) or by instantly unlocking them with Prismatic Essence, our premium currency. A different rotating roster of Seekers will also be available to play every three weeks.

Our first line-up of Seekers will include:
  • Strix
  • Gogumo
  • Neri
  • Aric

How do I earn Auranite Essence?
Auranite Essence is our earnable currency that you can use for Seeker unlocks, cosmetics, and additional items from Murri’s shop. You can acquire Auranite Essence in a couple of different ways:

  • Completing the Recruit’s Survival Guide will grant you 5,500 Auranite Essence–enough to unlock your first Seeker!
  • You can earn up to 25 Auranite Essence each match you play.
  • Our upcoming Adventure Passes will also offer Auranite Essence. More on that soon with our content update.

As we continue along Early Access, we’ll be offering more ways to acquire Auranite Essence. Keep updated with future patch notes and content updates to come šŸ‘€

Premium DLC Bundles šŸŽ

We’re excited to introduce three DLC Bundles available for sale on our Steam Store page. These DLC packages will offer a variety of goodies–from Seekers to cosmetics and in-game items. If you want to unlock a bunch of Seekers at a discounted price, these packages are the perfect opportunity to do so!

We will also have a limited-time Steam bundle available for all three DLCs at a 20% discount to celebrate our Early Access launch. All bundles

Our first Asia server! šŸŒ

The biggest question we received from Next Fest was: will there be Pacific/Oceania servers?

Big news, WE’RE EXPANDING! ⭐

We’re introducing our very first server in Asia, located in Singapore. Our current server locations are as follows:
  • NA West - Northern California
  • NA East - Ohio
  • South America - Sao Paulo
  • EU - Frankfurt
  • Asia - Singapore

This is just the beginning, and we want to expand Seekers into more corners of the world as soon as possible. We’ve got more planned in the future as our game and community continues to grow–stay tuned, keep hanging around, and we can’t wait to see where our next server will land. šŸ’–

Mini Patch Notes

Matchmaking Adjustments

On Sunday, we made a key change to improve the beginner’s matchmaking experience in Blooming Grove, and it’ll be staying for our Early Access launch! ✨ If you’re new to Seekers, you’ll be matched with other new players until you’ve successfully extracted twice. This will allow a more graceful onboarding process for our newbies as they learn about Seekers and experience our unique extraction gameplay.

Some other matchmaking adjustments:
  • Fixed an issue where the Global Matchmaking Toggle resets when changing the selected map.
  • Improved the way the matchmaking system captures ping information, so that players are set to their correct ā€œhomeā€ locations if Global Matchmaking is disabled.

Accidental Movement Speed Meta

  • Fixed a bug where item-based movement speed bonuses (gears and gems) were not obeying the intended cap you could reach with items and rather were using a temporary movement speed cap (used by altars and speed potions)
  • The movement speed stat given by the Auranite Fragment of Movespeed and the Auranite Shard of Movespeed were reduced significantly to keep them in line with other stat bonuses provided by gems and gear
  • The Auranite Fragment [previously… Framgent] of Movespeed has been reduced from 7.2 to 2.4 Movespeed.
  • The Auranite Shard of Movespeed has been reduced from 12 to 4.8 Movespeed.

🧾 Dev Context: Way back in early beta, we had a gem type system where only one gem type could be applied to an item. The values for these gems were originally set based on this mechanic and were missed in later changes. This adjustment now sets the power of these gems to be more appropriate in an environment where players can stack multiple gems of the same type onto an item. We will be continuing to assess and iterate on the performance of stat and passive gems to provide a competitive variety of play.

Murri's Shop

We've been having conversations about the Standard Cache and Improved Cache offers that Murri has in his shop. To that, we're listening to your feedback on how we can improve his shop and are actively evaluating his offers.

Stay tuned for updates on Murri's shop. šŸ›ļø

Cool Bug Fixes

(did ya see the pun there?)
  • Fixed an issue where the lobby caused GPUs to use a ton of system resources. The lobby (and the lobby only) is now capped at 60 frames per second (fps).
  • Fixed an issue where keybinds were not properly saving after configuring them in the Settings menu.
  • Fixed an issue where dropping gear could cause it to lose some of its stats and CR when picked up again.
