Attention, space explorers! We’re thrilled to share some exciting news from the Detached cosmos. While you’ve been navigating the zero-gravity challenges of the non-VR version, our sibling project—the original VR version of Detached—has just received a major update! 🎉

Detached VR was where it all began—a thrilling, immersive journey through the vastness of space, designed to make you feel like a true astronaut. And now, it’s better than ever! If you’ve enjoyed the non-VR version of Detached and have since added a VR headset to your setup, this is the perfect time to experience the game in its original, fully immersive form.

Here’s what’s new in this update:

✨ Expanded Headset Compatibility

We’ve opened the airlocks to welcome more players aboard! Detached now supports a wider range of headsets, so even more space explorers can experience the thrill of navigating the cosmos.
👉 The game supports now Oculus Quest 2/3, Pico 4 Pro/Ultra, Valve Index, and HTC Vive.
Note: Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) is no longer supported due to compatibility issues with the latest Windows 10 and Windows 11 updates.

✨ Updated Default Control Scheme

Piloting your ship has never felt smoother. We’ve fine-tuned the controls to ensure they’re perfectly aligned with the capabilities of the latest headsets.
👉 Improved FXP control scheme for Oculus Quest 2/3, Valve Index, and Pico 4 Pro/Ultra. ​​

✨ Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements

We’ve patched up some cracks in the hull to ensure your journey through the void is as seamless as possible.
👉 Resolved a crash issue caused by OpenSSL 1.0.2 in Unreal Engine 4.19 on Intel 10th Gen+ processors. The game now uses the updated fix from Unreal Engine 4.22, ensuring smoother performance.

Detached VR was one of our very first projects, and it’s a game that’s incredibly close to our hearts. Revisiting it after all these years has been a nostalgic and rewarding journey for us, and we’re so excited to share this updated version with you.
