Welcome to update 0.8! For the longest time I have wanted to completely redo the lighting in the game. Not only did I always feel like it wasn't the best lighting (especially the shadows), but it also contributed over 700MBs of the game's file size. After yearly attempt for the past few years, I have finally succeeded in not only reducing the file size but also improving the quality of lights and shadows.

With the new lightmaps the game's filesize has reduced from 1.5GBs to just a tad below 1GB. But that's not the only change in this update, so let us get right to the changelog.

Major Changes
  • Complete Overhaul of Lighting
  • Upgraded to a new Rendering Pipeline
  • Replaced the Outline System

Minor Changes
  • Updated to a new version of Unity
  • Split grouped meshes into individual objects for optimization
  • Optimizations across the game
  • Minor changes to the Tutorial
  • Further improvements to controller support

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed issues with Rubber Duck not always launching players
  • Fixed levels 19-30 sometimes returning to main menu on finish
  • Fixed & adjusted colliders on the Aeroplane

If you find any bugs please do report them either in the Steam Discussions or over on the Fishagon Discord!

And with that we continue on the road to 1.0. I'm not going to give a self-imposed deadline on it this time around. It will come when it comes realistically.

I will say the next update will build upon the changes of this update. There will be new objects to use in the level editor thanks to the mesh group splitting. The tutorial will receive an entire overhaul.

Along with those changes next update we will be aiming to have official controller support & Steam Deck Verified. I estimate once those things are achieved we will be about an update away from full release.

Also if you haven't seen we also released a free online party game about movies! Check it out below.

In the future we will probably release a custom secret Minibot avatar for owners of this game to use on Boring Movies.

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy the update!
