Check out the Couch Co-Op Special for a sneak peek to a pair of game modes (good old Fight, and Manual Sprint). Few keyboard layout predefined, controllers work too! (I hope they do). Try it solo or invite a friend (Remote Play Together is a great thing! Unlike my network multiplayer attempt, just forget it)
