Welcome Back Players
Firstly massive thank you to all the players that have supported the game since launch. Your feedback has been heard and have isolated and made improvements on them. Thank you. I cannot wait for you all to experience what is to come throughout 2025.
Pixel Arcade is now fully supported with the Unity 6 Game Engine. This means improved performance across all levels, more fluid physics movement and enhanced visual effects.
On January 31st, more players enter the Pixel Arcade arena with a standalone build for Meta Quest devices. On Friday the 31st Jan 2024, Steam players will also be getting a new update. Lets go through whats coming!
Whats New in 2.0

In Game Recording
You will notice a new panel in the menu hub, grab this and place it over your shoulder as you master levels and record highlights in first and third person. Highlight your clutch moments and share with the steam community or on socials with #PixelArcade to be featured in future trailers!

Voice chat integration so dont fall behind your friend and complete the game together 🤝 Don't worry about falling behind, taking risks has its rewards so work as a team to traverse Level 10 and use your partners skillset to your advantage!
Bonus Breakdown
Pixel Arcade contains a lot of new technology for VR. An exclusive 3D Modular interface, keeping you in the game and not having to worry about learning where interface components are. Never laser pointers 🙏 The UI is context aware.
The portal is a challenge for users with low end hardware. VR Rendering requires 2 cameras for stereoscopic rendering - one for each eye. This is essential to VR and allows you to see depth. However, for real portals to work we must instead render 2x as much, as we also have 2 cameras on the "other side" of the portal. This impacts performance significantly up to 2x as much, depending on how complex the level behind is. So a level that is 144 fps without the portal will likely drop to 72 fps.. not something im willing to accept. Currently a 3070 allows for 144fps consistent.
