A new cave biome was added, and is the main focus of this update! You might want to go to Tierra if you're on another world, visit the Temperate forest biome, and go to their caves to see the new biome! It'll generate on existing saves as well!


The Verdant Cave biome
Below the Temperate forests, a new biome is waiting to be explored!

Temperate forests, being the only surface biome with no cave biome of its own on Tierra prior to this update, now has one, the Verdant Cave biome! Plant life here runs rampant, and so do some enemies, but look at the potential scenery of this new plant-filled biome!

Glowing plants are abundant in the shallower parts of this biome, but become increasingly rare at deeper depths until layer 50, where at this point, glowing plants are nearly non-existent!

At layers 50 and below, the enemies start to get more dangerous! Not only are there a bunch of bats, there's a variant that when killed, spawns even more smaller bats. There's also an enemy that can immobilize any cosmorist for 2 seconds via a new debuff, but be on the lookout for a new gadget found in treasure chests that can only be found in this biome at these depths! It requires no electricity to function!

New Music!
- With this new update also comes new music that plays in this biome! If you were in the discord server, you might have came across an audio file of the music slowed and pitched down! It's slowed and pitched down by a factor of around 2.5 from the actual music, and this is what plays in the Verdant caves!
A note about this update
- Existing saves will also experience the new biome, as well as new ones, but bases in existing saves made in areas where the Verdant Caves will generate will immediately experience the new biome, but with a world generation change.
If your base is located in any dirt cave biome below temperate forests, taiga biomes, or glacier biomes close to taigas, or some stone caves also below those same biomes, that base will likely have cave walls overriding everything except for any tile placed or mined by the player.


- Added the Verdant Cave biome, generating between 3°C and 23°C environments with humidity values higher than 2/3, and between layers 1 and 99.
- Taiga biomes and its cave biome will now generate in slightly warmer places for both new and existing saves.
- Fixed bug where tiles on the screen stop rendering until the player moves after death.
