The Winter Event is here! Along with a New MAP!
I just want to say that this is the biggest event I have ever done and the new map was a huge undertaken for me. I am so grateful for the wonderful community that plays Sketchy's and supports my development. I am excited for you all to check out this update!So, here's what's in the update:
NEW
- New Map (Snow Planet) - Koroth
This is the largest Map in Sketchy's yet, so I don't expect it to be balanced right off the bat, but I wanted to make something that felt a bit more vast than most of my maps.
You'll find security droids that roam the area, arctic wolves, evil snowmen, and the occasional snow beast.
You will also find all new "Whackables" that are clearly holiday themed, but will stay with the map as this is something I did with Darkwood for the community sense everyone seemed to love them so much.

The Winter Event - Sketchy's Lost Gifts and Winter Cookies
In this event, players will need to earn a special currency called "Winter Cookies" that can only be earned by landing on the new planet Koroth. There you will need to find and return lost toys jotted down on a list that Sketchy has conveniently left with Elizabeth at the landing dock. Bring toys to Elizabeth and you'll get some Winter Cookies needed to win Winter Plush and Weapon charms (not skins).
Some of the missing toys are in Krampus's Cabin. Can you find them?
NOTE - This is a NEW experience much different from anything else in Sketchy's (an "experiment", if you will).
- A Brand New AI Combat experience - How about a new RPG experience in Sketchy's? I thought it would be fun to give players a challenging "mini-boss" type encounter with RPG ability based mechanics. Yes, you heard correctly.
Meet The Greed Who Stole Christmas
This character will prove quite the challenge as it contains never before seen combat mechanics that will require you to sprint to evade and move to avoid timed melee swings. This won't be for everyone, but that's why its just ONE of the MANY things to do in this update.
Ok, so what else is there? Oh yes, there is:
- A new Penguin Pet! A new map wouldn't be a new map without its beloved pets. I think everyone will find this new adorable penguin absolutely irresistible. Remember, you need to reach Level 3 Security in this new map to find its egg.
- 4 New Winter Event Plush
- 2 New Non-Event Plush
- 5 New Winter Event Misc Claw Prizes
- 5 New Winter Event Weapon Charms
- 2 New Non-Winter Event Furniture Items
- 5 New Festive Themed Skeleton Skins.
- I was feeling pretty jolly this season and wanted to go even further with the update. So, I've left you 3 Presents under the tree, so don't forget to open them!
UPDATES
- Base Damage of Whackers/Starter Weapons have increased from 25 to 30.
- AI now detect players that are not in light of sight and will either leave the player alone or change targets to a nearby player that can be successfully pursued.
- The Scratchy visual of the players visor has been removed. A future implementation could be introduced that would involve visor effects based on conditions and even an option to toggle it on/off, but for now, I have removed it.
- Taking a weapon from the candy wrack is no longer random. Whichever weapon your crosshair is aiming at is the weapon that you will receive.
- Teleporter Generators now spawn in once the corresponding security level has been granted access rather than spawning when the map initially loads.
FIXES
- Fixed an issue where failing a quota was clearing items on client saves rather than only the host of the session.
- Fixed an issue where certain interactions such as purchasing vending machine chips would prevent the action bar from item swapping until the player interacted with something else.
- Fixed an issue with various weapon-holding animations for new player skins.
