I have worked hard to get some new updates and important bug fixes for A Beaver's Tale. Some folks who speed run the game, and some others who play tested brought these issues to my attention, so thank you kindly! A Beaver's Tale is better because of you :)
Here is the list of improvements in version 1.1:
- The game has been upgraded to the newest, stable Godot engine version (4.3).
- FXAA anti-aliasing is now enabled for the game, removing some of the jagged edges.
- The various bugs involving saving have been fixed. This includes the "Delete Save Data" button which allows you to make a new game anywhere inside A Beaver's Tale (nice for speed runners!)
- There's a new loading screen now between the various game modes - this makes the transition much smoother.
- Buckey's movement speed has been fixed. He used to move slowly vertically, but really fast horizontally.
- Fishing has been fixed. There were some edge cases where fishes were de-spawning, making it really hard to get the fishing achievement.
- Bugs involving logs and the final cut scene have been fixed.
- Terrain flattening has been removed from build mode, since it seems people weren't using it, and it causes issues with the grass "disconnecting".
- An issue that occurred sometimes when the game closed has been fixed. This is one of the main reasons performance has really improved!
Thanks for hanging in there, and I hope you enjoy the updates!
Michael
