Update notes via Steam Community

Hello there!

This is Patch Note 0.1!

A week after the release of Rough Rivals, I’m thrilled to share several updates with you.

KEYBOARD & MOUSE SUPPORT + ACCESSIBILITY

With this patch, I’ve finally added keyboard and mouse support, as requested by many players eager to jump onto the field! After the silly mistake of launching the game with controller-only support, this has now been fixed! I’ll also address some accessibility issues encountered by certain players.

  • Device switching is now handled automatically, and the in-game icons should display correctly when switching devices.
  • Split-screen mode is still available, but only one keyboard and mouse setup can be used. Your teammate will need to use a controller!
  • Steam Deck support is confirmed, although Steam may take some time to reflect this on the store page.
  • Steam Input is not supported on Linux or Steam Deck. To ensure the correct symbols and icons are displayed, disable Steam Input for this game by following these steps: Right-click the game in your library, select Properties, go to the controller section, set it to Disable Steam Input
  • If you encounter issues while switching devices after the main menu has loaded (beyond the start menu), restart the game and register your preferred device at the start menu.

BUG FIXES

Some minor bugs were identified thanks to your reports. Here’s what’s been addressed:

  • During the tutorial, allies will no longer accidentally pick up the ball before you’re instructed to pass it, which previously prevented progress.
  • In split-screen mode, the display of remaining money (teeth) will now show the correct amounts for both players.

That’s all for today! Thank you for your feedback and suggestions. I’m continuing to work on the game to ensure the best possible experience for everyone.

Thanks again for joining me on the field—see you soon for more action!
