It’s been almost two weeks since the game’s release, and during this time, we’ve managed to roll out several updates to improve the game experience. We've been actively gathering your feedback and making various adjustments to Beyond the Darkness. Of course, we’ve also been fighting bugs — what game development is complete without that? ;)

Here are some details on what’s been done so far:

  • Improved clarity of the most challenging puzzle requirements in Acts II, III, and VI.
  • Significant changes to the Act III location (addressed incorrect collisions, player navigation issues, and adjusted the "fairness" of enemies).
  • Enhanced one segment of Act V to make it more convenient to progress through.
  • Fixed transparency issues with certain obstacles in Act VI.
  • Adjusted the volume of the English voiceover in Act VIII.
  • Added camera inversion settings (per players’ requests).
  • Expanded the sensitivity range for various input devices.
  • Fixed the behavior of certain achievements (some players previously couldn’t unlock them right away).
  • Changed DirectX version from 12 to 11.
  • Added a new "Global Illumination Method" option in the graphics settings, allowing players to switch between a classic lighting model and the lumen technology-based lighting model (these last two changes should improve frame rates for players who encountered performance issues with lighting).
  • Other small fixes and improvements to enhance gameplay quality.
