An update to Project Borealis: Prologue has been released. Here are the changes:

GRAPHICS & ART

  • Adjusted blood contrast to bring down some bright elements
  • Adjusted wind speed and fall strength on snow VFX
  • Enhanced zombie slice blood VFX and ragdoll
  • Adjusted visibility in corners of WF room


SOUND

  • Added placeholder icecrab bite sound
  • Improved audibility of icecrab movement
  • Adjusted icecrab death playback rules
  • Adjusted reverb on some weapon audio
  • Added +USE success sound
  • Fixed shell ejection not playing floor collision audio due to a bug
  • Fixed possible looping sound errors


HUD

  • Added classic HL2 bucket weapon switching
  • Fixed various issues with weapon selection
    • Fixed sound playback issues with weapon selection
    • Fixed weapon selection not displaying guns out of ammo properly
    • Fixed weapon selection showing invisible or outdated weapon icons
    • Fixed weapon selection playing back some redundant animations when selecting the already drawn weapon

  • Fixed various issues with zooming
    • Fixed HUD effect inconsistencies
    • Fixed viewmodel not being handled properly during zoom
    • Adjusted zoom/unzoom speed

  • Added "Saved..." message when manually saving / quicksaving
  • Fixed font corruption on the save menu's timezone label
  • Fixed UI not rescaling on resolution changes
  • Added SetBind command to allow for custom keybind scripting in console


GAMEPLAY

  • Fixed camera animations and viewpunch not working after loading a save


PHYSICS

  • Improved reliability of collisions, especially on fast moving props
  • Smoothed out collisions on held physics props
  • Fixed physics props pushing the player too much
  • Fixed player throws not inheriting velocity due to a bug


MOVEMENT

  • Fixed incorrect acceleration being read between frames, which caused issues in input detection for jump boost handling (mostly for jumping backwards)
  • Fixed directional friction being applied too aggressively, which most notably prevented changing directions while crouching
