Hey Everyone! First, we want to thank you all for playing the game and leaving helpful feedback! We very much appreciate the positive reception the game is receiving and are excited to continue developing it. To celebrate, we have put together a content update that also addresses some bugs that have been reported.

Emotes

First off, emotes! Players can play emotes using the 1-4 keys (by default). Currently, in order, we have a wave, point, clap, and dance emote to try out with your friends!


Enemy Logs

We now have logs for every enemy that helps explain their mechanics and give some background on what they are. You can obtain these logs by encountering an enemy and returning to your submarine to play it from the Audio Log Computer. Selecting a log from the computer will play it for everyone in the submarine.


The Gramophone & Records

Want to scavenge the biospheres and interiors with style? Introducing the Gramophone. Available for purchase from Rummager Rory, the Gramophone is an elegant way to play music for all to hear! Want more songs? Explore the outdoor biosphere to find hidden records and feed them to the entity to unlock them!

All songs are made in-house, by our friend CaptainKray. If you have followed us for a while, you may find some of these tracks familiar.



Change Suits

Players can now change their suit color by interacting with a bed. The color of the bed is the color of the suit you will change into. Don't tell anyone, but a secret Halloween skin is hidden somewhere in the game. Good luck finding it!


Pumpkin Item

The Pumpkin is a hefty but rewarding festive item to find in the biosphere interiors.


Hang Photos

You can now hang photos on most walls by pressing F (by default). Also, picking up photos will now merge with any held photo stack.


Stinky Items

Items have a very low chance of being "stinky." Stinky items have an increased calorie value.

New Secret Room

There's one new secret room for each interior style.

Interior Door Warning

The doors leading to the outside biosphere will now warn players if a tornado is nearby on the other side.


Spectate UI Improvements

When spectating, you can now see what players are dead with you and the name of the player you are currently spectating.


Health & Item Calorie Value on HUD

When appropriate, your health value and the calorie value for the currently held item will now appear on the HUD.


Vac-Pack scaling

Your Vac-Pack (backpack) model will now scale in size based on the number of items in your Vac-Light.

Game Difficulty Decreased

We have made some changes to enemy speed, enemy spawning, and calorie requirements to help make the game feel more fair. We also reduced the frequency of droids camping at the biosphere entrance and added a room in the center of the staircase for players to hide from droids. For Slimeworks, we have removed many thorn bushes and decreased their damage from 10 to 5.

Small Changes & Bug Fixes

  • There is now a single Vac-Light that spawns in the sub.
  • The Podophage (Purple virus-looking enemy) will no longer hurt players who are not latched by it.
  • Fixed Infected effect not getting removed when leaving biosphere.
  • Photos are now saved with your save file. (Previously, the photo would just be blank upon loading an old save)
  • Saves will no longer become laggy the further you play.
  • Saves from older versions can now be played with newer versions (versions that change how saving is handled will still be prevented from loading)
  • Fixed many places where players can get stuck.
  • Fixed being unable to interact with the exit hatch on the top of the ladder.
  • Fixed being able to suck items through doors.
  • You can no longer collide with other players near interior entrances and exit hatches. This should prevent launching other players when they both enter/leave the interior simultaneously.


Free Demo Returning for Steam Scream Fest

The free demo offers a slice of the full game and will remain available during the week of Steam Scream Fest. Multiplayer between the free demo and the full game is not cross-compatible.

What's Next

Next on our priority list are more enemies and more maps. We are also aware of a bug that causes voice chat to randomly stop working for some players. At the moment, the only way to fix this is by saving (only possible while undocked/at-sea), leaving, and having everyone re-join. This is a nasty issue that we have been looking into for a while and we will continue to do so.
