This patch brings a number of updates to maps, as well as a series of QOL features designed to enhanced gameplay for players old and new. Some long-running bugs have been squared, and new features added.
Maps
Octane
- Extended flagstands with a circuit of chutes and bends
- Added boost gates on both sides of the circuit and a new front ramp
- Adjusted base layout with added cranes and improved spawn points
- Minor terrain and art updates
Relay
- Added pedestals near the flag stand to help defenders spot enemies and avoid damage
- Updated the high side of the map with adjusted terrain and a neutral outpost housing a health kit
- Art update, including new world details outside the play area
- Adjusted sun position and skybox rotation
- Added ambient sounds, including soft wind, bugs, and trees
Vortex
- Relocated flags to be closer together
- Added main base/flag stand structure
- Adjusted spawns and terrain to support new flag locations
- Reduced size of the inner out-of-bounds (OOB) grid
- Moved some structures outside the inner OOB grid to reduce potential hiding spots
- Added sound effects to spaceships
Twilight Grove
- Removed the far back left spawn point
- Optimized ambient audio
- Adjusted spectator preset camera positions
Outpost
- Removed pipes between floors in the base
- Adjusted terrain to allow for a slightly wider alternate right route
- Adjusted spectator extra view preset camera
Elite, Exhumed, Minora, & Nightflare
- Optimized ambient audio
- Adjusted spectator preset camera positions
CTF-Forlorn
- Increased lamp brightness
Gameplay
- Deployable beacons now have new sounds/visual effects, last longer, and have new properties that slow down and bounce players on contact
- Health/ammo nuggets have updated VFX that are clearer at a distance and change throughout their lifespan to indicate the remaining time
CTF Flag
- No longer has a pulsing light when home on the stand
- Announcer calls “You are out of bounds” when you take the flag OOB (1st person only)
- Announcer counts down "3, 2, 1" before the flag is auto-returned for being OOB (local area)
- Increased length of the flag VFX trail
- Increased volume of flag idle hum
- Fixed a bug where the flag would reset as if it was OOB when it wasn’t
Miscellaneous
- The scoreboard and score indicator will now flip depending on which team you are on, so your team is always on the left
- IMPORTANT: When in Competitive Play there is no longer a "left side" and a "right side". We suggest using "red/blue", "Manatech/Arcturus", etc when communicating team names.
- Health bars now turn yellow when below 120 health
- Fixed a potential crash when joining servers
- Servers on the incorrect version will no longer be shown in the server browser
- "Rules" has been renamed to "Server Version" in the server browser
- Match History will now correctly reflect your own match history
- Added Gamma Slider to video settings
- Added player reports via the in-game player list menu
- Removed the energy pack, but default energy regeneration now matches what it would be with the pack
- Fixed loadouts not being saved
- Removed the sharpen and skylight brightness console commands, which could be exploited to make spotting enemies easier
- Fixed [dev] tags and Patreon stars not appearing
