Hey! We're so glad to be back!
We’ve just dusted off some cobwebs and released a quick interim patch. Let's call it Patch 3.5.Another update is coming soon and we think it will be fun 👁️👁️.
Splash screen updates.
The main purpose is to swap out Publisher logos, now Rekim is self publishing the game. Hurray! We have changed the old publisher logo for a tribute to our good friend Gareth Jones ( Grandmaster Gareth) 1980 – 2022. Gareth provided a vast wealth of tracks for Pool Panic’s soundtrack. There are an unbelievable 96 tracks on Spotify.

An incredible guy and a joy to sit and chat with. He had an infectious enthusiasm for the deepest corners of strange musical pickings. A music making machine, working on community projects, theatre, tv, video games, bands, his own minute melodies and of course his band Misty’s Big Adventure. Whenever his band Misty’s Big Adventure were touring nearby, it always felt like they were bringing a bit of home from Birmingham to wherever I was at the time.
When I jokingly suggested to Gareth that there were over 100 levels in Pool Panic and I wanted a different track for each one, I can’t think of many other people who, given the time scale, would seem genuinely excited at the prospect. When I told him I was joking and not to worry, he seemed a bit disappointed and said “Well. I’m aiming for that anyway”. The days a new batch of his tracks came in for us to try out and see how they transformed things, were a real highlight of the development.
He is sorely missed by us. Thanks Gareth!

Menu improvements
We’ve given the menu screens a spring clean and made them clearer on smaller screens like the SteamDeck and Switch. This paved the way for a future update.- All platforms now have “left handed mode” to flip aim and walk on a gamepad.
- Keyboard and mouse options are hidden when opening a menu with a gamepad.
- Local multiplayer games now allow for individual controller settings to be fully changed per controller from the pause menu.
Updates
- Added animated diagram to the lock on and walk tutorial.
- Tutorial no longer waits until you have used a soft shot.
- Added wearable inflatable wrestler ball arms to car crash level for fun.
- Added wearable bumper tables to the diner levels to up the chaos.
- Added wearable bumpers to the street party level and popped a rat under some tables.
- Final Boss no longer restarts when you get caught by the ghost. It was too hard.
- Automatically reduce speed of shots for nearby pockets out in the open without surrounding cushions.
Fixes
- Joust balls count towards VS pots.
- Mouse control fix for jump when using inverted aim.
- Fixed issue where the wax floor levels sometimes don’t trigger the end level melt, if the 8ball is potted at the same time as another ball.
- Gallery tower room was jumping when looping pre activation.
- Holding a direction on the menus should correctly repeat on every menu now.
Thanks for playing! We are so pleased to be able to keep Pool Panic in the stores.
